I think it depends on clothing. Like if you see someone who is a size 12, trying to fit into size 8 jeans and wearing a baby doll t-shirt with roll hanging out, I would say "fat". But that same person in a nice A-line dress or something "Oh she is cute".
Someone who is waif is my example of too skinny.
I think girls that have an athletic build but thin are the ones to be envied.
I don't like looking at weight personally.I hate scales, I would say proportion makes someone look bigger. If my previous clothes from my thinner days fit then I feel better about myself. For a while nothing fit (as I'm sure many of us can relate to) I have been working out all summer, still not "quite to where I want to be...it just takes too much work! lol
My body is still not right and I feel like I constantly need to shop for clothes that fit. ughhh.
Definatly how you look.I know petite people who just look paunchy/flabby and are just out of shape-but they consider themselves fat.Even though I don't think medicaly they would be.Its all in the eye of the beholder. If my stomach jumps up and down when I do, thats my cue to hit the gym and lay off the burgers.
well, you've gotten a lot of what fat looks like. skinny, which is not the same as slim to me, looks like someone has done a lot of crack or heroin. Like the skin on their body just isn't hanging right.
I only weigh about 23lbs less. When I came home from the hospital and lost 13lbs after having a 9lb baby I was in complete shock. I hate that I can no longer blame this fat on pregnancy. Time to get off my a$$ and do something about it. I really think all of these posts have motivated me.

yup. i have been watching what i eat for about a week now and no soda for 4 days (that's BIG for me). 2 good friends and I are starting ww tomorrow. We're planning on doing weigh-in parties and cooking up recipes. i think it'll be fun. plus, we are all 3 close in weight, so i think that will motivate me even more. lol
Re: Curious, what's "fat" and what's "skinny?"
For me, fat is a 14+ at 5'9". The moment I hit 200 was the worst moment of my life.
For me too thin is a 6 or lower.
My ultimate goal is a 10 and 150.

Ditto proportion.
I am a size 16 and fat. Who gains 70lbs when they are pregnant and over a year later still isn't even close to pp weight? Oh wait that is me!
Huh. Try weighing more a year later than you did at DELIVERY!
