POLL: I love to watch my child(ren)...

For me the answer is dance.

I'm drinking a cup of coffee and watching my boys dance to classical music from their Baby Einstein caterpillar toy.

My 15-month-old has two dance moves: the "squat, stand, and repeat" and the "rapid foot stomp." It's so freaking adorable.

My 4-year-old is a wild man with many crazy dances in his repertoire. Always entertaining!

I need to dust off the video camera!

  • There are so many things I could say here, but I guess discover new things.  His gross motor skills have improved so much the last few weeks and it's neat to see him how to figure out how to unbuckle something, or screw the cap off of something, etc.  Especially because he seems so proud of himself when he figures it out.  So cute!
  • I love to watch my child....sleep.  Or rather, I love it when she goes to sleep.  Ahhhhh, silence!  I can have a drink!  I can watch grown-up tv!  I can read!  I can waste time doing whatever I want!

Ha! I hear that. Our favorite time of day is 8pm when all 3 kids go to bed! Then DH is asleep on the couch by 9pm. We're such party animals.

  • Read books! It amazes me how many she's memorized. As a former teacher, it gives me hope that she'll like reading when she grows up.

  • I love watching them dance too...I also love watching them draw/paint...especially my 4yr old.  She gets so much joy from it & does an amazing job--it just makes her so proud & warms my heart.

  • DD's got a new thing this week where she'll point to books on a shelf, or her toys, and make noises like she's counting.  The words are gibberish, but the inflection sounds just like "one, two, three, four..."  She gets so serious and concentrates so hard!

And I love the dancing, too.

  • I love when my little guy falls asleep on my chest.  He's so peaceful and I could watch him for hours like that!

  • Very cute!

I love to watch DD sleep.  They're so precious and innocent!

I love to watch DD organize.  She's really big into placing things now...she'll move things around for 20 or 30 minutes and she has no real goal in site. For example, she plays on the landing of our stairs and puts her stuffed animals on one step, her purse on another, and a bucket next to her.  She'll sit for a moment, then get up and reorganize everything she just placed.  She just wants to move them around.  It's really cute to watch!

  • I agree with the dancing! I also love watching her concentrate when she's trying to figure something out.
  • I really love to watch Emily around other kids: seeing how her personality has developed so far at almost 3 years old is simply amazing!  Seeing her help others, "ssshhhh" others, share toys and even hug someone that is crying makes me smile, giggle and well up with tears all at once.  :)
