Austin Babies

what is your 4-6mo's fav. toy?

I have some stuff to return to BRU and would like to get the boys some new toys.  They really like their rattles and rings.  They enjoy books (especially this Baby Einstein Play-a-Song book I have), so what is your kiddo's favourite book at this age also?

thank you, the boys thank you too.  :)

Re: what is your 4-6mo's fav. toy?

  • He loves this striped zebra that has a circular rattle at the bottom. Absolutely loves it and could stare at it all day. He's also a huge fan of this cloth book that has a mirror and makes a crunching noise. We got them as gifts, so I'm not sure where they came from. The Zebra is the Infantino brand.

His favorite books are Where the Wild Things Are, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and A Color of His(Their?) Own. My mom has ocean animals and jungle animals pop up books she got at Sams that he loves too. He lunges at the pages of all of these and tries as hard as he can to grab them...that's how I judge how well he likes a book ;)

  • Not sure where she got them (I can find out later) but my mom bought Logan some foot rattles that he loves!

  • At that age, DD was WAY into her little activity gym, the kind they lie underneath with toys they can try to grab/pull on.

And for books, DD has always loved our Goodnight Moon board book from the very early days.

**love that you spelled "favourite" that way!

  • DD likes her Infantino peek-a-boo rattle (we call ours Mini-Moo), she loves her Oddball with rattle in it (now my standard baby shower gift), crunchy books are also a hit.

  • She loves Sophie! We also have a toy that suctions to stuff and spins that she loves to spin. She loves the pop up books too. We have The Very Boucy Bear and another pop up animal book.

  • Daniel's favorite books at that age were anything from the "That's Not My..." series.  "That's Not My Puppy", "That's Not My Train", etc.  He still loves them, in fact.  We've gotten some miles out of those.

He also loved jingly rattles (wasn't so much into the rattly kind), soft stacking blocks, and those rings that you use for tethering things to strollers.  He loved playing with the rings on their own -- didn't even need a toy or anything attached to them.  We'd link a few of them together and let him have at it.

At around six months he got way into stacking cups.  He played with those in his crib, in his play area, in the tub...  They were awesome.

  • A chime type rattle frog and duck that are supposed to hang from the carseat. ?He loves the chimey sound they make and they fit in his mouth, what more can a kid ask for? ?For books, it's Goodnight Moon. ?LOVES it. ?We read it every night, along with another one.
  • My boys love their jumpers, their exersaucers and their new walkers.  They can really scoot around the kitchen in them.  We have also had lots of milege with sitting them in front of this toy piano thing.  I just straddle the toy and put a boy in between my legs since they are not able to sit up on their own yet.  They love the lights that light up and the songs it plays.  They also love to hit the keys.  You have to kind of show them at first what to do but they learned very quickly.  Here is the toy's link....
