I had an appt with the specialist yesterday. The amniotic fluid is still too high, so I will continue to have weekly ultrasounds to check on the baby's progress. The good news is that Baby Jackson's kidney looked normal!! I had them measure it twice just to be sure, and both times had good results. So this means in the last few weeks, his heart has gotten stronger and looks normal on the fetal echo cardiogram, and now his kidneys look good. He is doing great!
Because of the high fluid levels, I am still at risk of preterm labor, stillbirth, placental abruption, and premature rupture of membranes. My OB ordered me to take it easy, not be under stress, or try to do too much. Ha! Easy for her to say. I explained to her that besides my normal everyday stress, I work 40 hours a week, and my house is currently being renovated. There is a never ending list of things to do. In spite of this, I am trying to lower my stress level and take it easy. The longer "Jack in the Belly" stays put, the better off he will be.
I am not really that concerned about the fluid levels. I see it as another hurdle to jump. When you have come as far as this little guy has, whats one more? |
Re: Dr appt update
I'm so glad that Jackson's kidneys and heart are doing great and I hope that the high amniotic fluid levels don't cause any issues. I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your little one. He's definitely a fighter.
And as for the stress... I wish I had suggestions to ease it. Hang in there, Shelley. (((HUG)))

It sounds like he is doing great. That is fantastic news! Hopefully the amnio level won't be an issue.
Take it easy lady!
I am so excited that he is doing so well. You have handled so much that most women, including myself, would have had a breakdown somewhere along the way but you are always so positive and strong and the improvements in him are wonderful. You amaze me!
