We're just about to order our nursery furniture for dc#2 and are having a disagreement. DS has espresso colored furniture in his room. For dc#2, DH wants to get a different finish for the furniture - he doesn't want them to match.
I don't think it's a big deal if they have the same finish. Each child will have their own room and you won't be looking at the furniture side by side.
For DC#2 (or 3 or 4), do you have the same finish of furniture or different?
Re: Do your two nurseries match (furniture)?
No, but the furniture in the first nursery didn't match, either. I had an antique armoire in there that was painted white, got a white painted crib to match, and picked an espresso-stained dresser with a changing topper and an espresso-stained side table.
Nursery #2 will be mostly espresso-stained.

Both nurseries are done in cherry. So is our living room, breakfast room, study, library, guest room and master. Our dining room is in mahogany. I only like the look of dark woods so cherry is pretty much my standard go-to for wood.
Yep. We're actually planning to get the exact same crib. Here is our reason:
We're keeping the larger bedroom as the nursery because there is room in there for the recliner and I spent a lot of time in that recliner nursing JD. When we furnished it we bought a convertible crib and the armoire and dresser/changer that matched the crib.
JD now will move to a smaller bedroom and there's only room in there for the armoire and his crib. So the dresser/changer will stay in the nursery and we'll just buy the exact same convertible crib so it will match the dresser.
Ideally I would buy a whole different set of furniture but this is the way it's working out for us so ... whatever. The kids will just have to have matching beds!
i am not much of a matchy matchy person but my LO will have the same furniture bc they are sharing a room.
ds1 has black furniture and LOs have dark cherry and we have espresso. although, ours looks a lot like the LOs.
