My OB told me that on average, each subsequent child (assuming full term) is 1/2lb larger than the previous.
With me, my 1st was 7lbs 12oz (39w 6days) and my 2nd was 9lbs 2oz (39w 3 days) so my 2nd was almost a pound and 1/2 bigger. Interestingly, my younger DD is tracking within 2 or 3 ounces of her sister throughout her first year so far despite being much larger at birth.
It wasn't true for us. DS2 was exactly 2 pounds and 2 inches smaller than his older brother and I gained the same amoutn of weight w/ both pregnancies.
hard to tell for me.... but I am guessing DS2 would've been bigger.
DS1 born at 41 weeks 8 lbs 14 oz
DS2 born at 38.5 weeks 7lbs 15 oz. + 2.5 weeks to 41 weeks and he would've been over a pound larger (they say babies gain approx. 1/2 lb a week?) so he would've been 9 1/4 lbs probably.
He was bigger than DS1 at 2 months, 4 months, 6 and 9 months and the same weight as DS1 at 12 months. He constantly moves and always on the go, maybe that's his secret
Re: 2nd baby bigger??
at birth? yes.
at 6 months? hell yes.
this boy is only 9 pounds less than his 2.25 y/o sister...and she's really big!
Not at all.
DS was 8Lb 16oz
DD was 7Lbs 4oz
DS was 10 lbs and 22.4 inches @ 41w1d
DD was 8 lb 10 oz and 20.5 inches @ 39w6d
If she had cooked as long as her brother (another 16 days), she would probably have been the same size.
DS - December 2006
DD - December 2008
DD was 5lb. 15oz full term
DS was 7lb. 2 oz full term
Not for me.
DS #1: 9 lbs, 1 oz., born on his due date
DS #2: 6 lbs, 11 oz., born 3 days early
DS #3: 8 lbs, 1 oz., born on his due date
true for me...
DS 8 lb 14 oz (born at 40 weeks 1 day)
DD 10 lb 5 oz (born at 41 weeks)
DD1- 5lb 15oz at 36.5 weeks
DD2 - 7lb 1 oz at 38.5 weeks

At birth, yes. My second was 1lb and 2 oz bigger than her sister.
However, their growth charts are almost IDENTICAL! It's almost strange how exactly the same size they are/were.
Barely. DS #1 8lb 8.6 oz
DS #2 8lb 8.9 oz

Mine was, BUT:
-1st baby was 4 weeks early, 2nd baby was 1.2 weeks early
-1st baby was a girl, 2nd baby was a boy (and statistically, boys are slightly bigger than girls)
DD was 6' 11 and 19.5 inches; born at 39W
DS was 7' 11 and 20.5 inches; born at 38W 6D
So, yes, true for me.
