2nd Trimester

My stomach feels stretched tight as a drum

It's not that it feels particularly big, just very stretched. And heavy. And it's rock hard. I also feel a little short of breath. I'm not full or constipated or bloated. Could the baby have changed positions and now be up higher or lying against the front wall of my uterus or something?

  • You're just still experiencing that growth spurt.  You're skin will stretch soon and your stomach won't feel so tight.  Baby is pushing your GI organs up and in turn, they are pushing on your diaphram and lungs causing your shortness of breath.

I've felt like this for about a week now. I am short and think that there just might be less room for the baby than if I were taller. I feel like everything is tights and packed in. I don't like the shortness of breath thing. Stairs are becoming a b!tch and it sucks.

  • I started feeling that last week and it only lasted a couple days for me but my stomach was only hard for about half a day...then it was squishy again... Stick out tongue
