I wish it was time to go, I should have made the appt. in the morning instead of around lunchtime. Anything else I should expect other than bloodwork, urine test, etc?
I just put a call in to my dr. to see what they require from me for the first visit on Friday...(and to find out if I'm going to get an u/s)...I will let you know what they say when they call back. ?Of course, all?Drs.?are different though.
My 1st appt took about 2 hours. Other than what you mentioned it included going over my entire medical history and meeting with the insurance lady to discuss costs.
GL!

Hi Kristen! It varies by doctor - I'm almost 12 weeks and haven't had any bloodwork done. I have done urine tests both times and she did my pap at the last appointment.
If you have time before you go, I would definitely suggest coming up with a list of questions. I didn't do this before my first appointment, and then forgot half of what I wanted to ask. Good luck!

I hope it's not 2 hours! Yikes! They told me around 45 min. so we'll see. I'm going in a little early to get all the paperwork done.

I'm a big dork and I have a little notepad in my purse where I jot down questions as I think of them. The dr. is going to think I am crazy and high maintenance!

I was definitely a long time. My poor DH was bored out of his mind. Good thing he had his iPhone to play with.

All I had done was an u/s...and then the opportunity to ask questions (like pp I also keep a notebook so I can jot things down as they come to me) My situation is a little different though in that my Dr. currently is a fertility specialist and I only go to her for my annuals. I have had no fertility issues, she just happened to be the Dr. I picked when I had to get a gyno. Now that I'm pregnant I am being released to an OB and will see him on 8/20. He may then have me do the whole bloodwork etc stuff, I'm really not sure.
I'm sure that everything will go perfectly today... I was nervous before my 1st appt yesterday and as soon as I saw the baby and the hb on the screen, all my anxiety disappeared. Have fun and enjoy it!
I liked having DH there and he wanted to go. I guess it's just a personal decision. Besides I'm glad he was there when she went over the insurance stuff because I probably wouldn't be kind of lost. lol.

I haven't gone to mine yet, but I have scheduled it already. They also told me to expect to be there for a few hours.

Nurse just called and said I'd have a full physical, blood work, and urine sample...no u/s until 20 weeks?
