Pregnant after a Loss

Is anyone else totally useless?

I am so tired when I get home from work I cant do anything but sit on the couch. I havent cooked dinner and my laundry is still in the dryer from Sunday afternoon. I feel so useless, lol. I havent gotten anything done I wanted to do this week.

Re: Is anyone else totally useless?

  • yeah and it's still that way lol. DH has been good about stepping up and cooking dinner and helping with household chores thankfully.

  • I think that I have made a good dinner about 5 times since finding out we were pregnant. I would sleep for about 2 hours after work and then feel too sick to do anything. Dh has always been a busy bee but I felt like I was taking advantage of him.

This week I am feeling much better and I hope that this sticks. I am actually going to head out for a run!

Don't worry about needing rest... you are growing a baby and that is a lot of work. You will get your energy back.

  • I'm pretty useless too, but I'm lucky because Joe is very understanding about how much work I'm doing on the inside. I've been trying to cook dinner since he's useless in the kitchen, but he plays with DD while I'm in the kitchen and always cleans up after dinner. Everything else, like laundry and vaccuuming, has been sporadic at best. I just feel bad because I'm in bed right after DD at like 8pm and I don't spend a lot of alone time with him. Hopefully that will improve in the second tri. :o)

  • My "laziness" (haha) goes in spurts... I really need to do some things around the house. DH is really good about doing stuff anyways, but he's done so much lately I asked him not to touch my laundry, lol.

  • Yup! I'm hoping that when I stop the progesterone this Friday, I'll get some energy back.  We shall see!
  • As we speak, DS is chowing down on saltines with me on the couch.  I have three loads of laundry to fold and two more to wash.  I am so nauseous though!  Sad
  • I have been making dinner but the dishes are piling up. DH will usually help with that but we have a lot of yard work that I haven't been helping with. He is busy doing that. I did a few loads of laundry because I was running out of undies, but that load of whites is still sitting unfolded in the basket. Good think it is just socks and undies or I would be a wrinkled disaster. Some days are way worse than others.

  • Rest! You will gain some energy back during the second trimester and then again at the end of the third. It is normal to be so tired, your body is going through so many changes.
