Pregnant after a Loss

History of ectopic... new BFP.. Please Help!

I really need some help right now. I had an ectopic pregnancy about 4 years ago. We started trying again and I just got a BFP. Now I'm a nervous wreck. I took one blood test today and I have one later this week. I also have an U/S scheduled next week due to my history. If you have any stories of anyone with a history of ectopic pregnancy but went on to have a healthy baby. I would appreciate them more than words!! Thanks in advance!

  • I had an ectopic last summer and am currently almost 19 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby Smile  I've talked to lots of people since my ectopic who had an ectopic and then went on to have several kids after that.  Congrats on the BFP and best of luck to you and your baby!

  • When we first started ttc #2 my first loss was an e/p. I have been pg 4 times since then, and even though 3 of them ended in m/c they were all in my uterus. GL and H&H 9 months to you!
  • I had an e/p with pregnancy #1 in November. Had surgery, where doctor was able to save my tube. We waited 2 cycles, and here I am 24 weeks along with this little guy. Good luck!!

  • I had an ectopic last summer that was treated with two rounds of methotrexate.  We waited about 4 cycles before trying again and 3 months later I had my BFP.  I'm 6 weeks from my due date!  Congrats to you!  Stay positive!

  • Girl.... I am right there with you and know EXACTLY how you feel in panic mode!!  I had an ectopic last January and with 2 rounds of methotrexate resolved it, and am now today, 14wks along with everything looking perfect.

Having said that, it took us another 15mths to get our 2nd BFP after our e/p, but that was another issue all together and not related.. but even up until today, when I go in for our 14wk appt, I'm still nervous that something may be wrong because it's so hard to believe that it all went right this time..

I also have a friend that had an ectopic a few years back (accidently got KU), and then last year gave birth to a planned, healthy baby, so there is definately more hope out there than you realize when you are in the position you are in right now, cause all I read about when I was where you were at, was not positive at all, so keep your chin up, all should be just fine.. I think the e/p re occuring are not as common as you may come to think.. unless there is an underlying issue (like in my sister's case, she had contracted clymidia (sp?) several years back and still hasn't successfully conceived even with IVF rounds!)
