TTC After a Loss

What's the last book you've read?

Around the time of my second m/c, I posted on here asking for book recommendations. Since then, I've been going through my list book by book, but I always love to add to it.

The last book I read was One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd, which was very different and very interesting! I really enjoyed it. It's set around 1900 and it's the fictional journal of a woman who goes to live with the Native Americans.

I am currently reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which I have managed to never read before. I'm only about 100 pages in, but I am really enjoying it.

Anyone else?

Re: What's the last book you've read?

  • I just finished Empty Womb, Aching Heart a collection of stories from people who have dealt with miscarriages and infertility.  I am about to crack open New Moon for a second time.  I wanted to reread the series before the movie comes out.

  • Tori Spelling's Mommywood ? LOVE HER! ?It's just a great "sitting outside" summer read. ?
  • I just got finished reading Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner and I'd highly reccommend (sp) it!  It actually deals with pregnancy loss with one of the characters but still is a great chick lit/beach read type of book!  She's the author of The Devil Wears Prada, etc.
  • I'm almost done with Three Little Words by Ashley Rhodes-Courter.  It's a memoir about her many different foster homes.  Sad and depressing - my kind of read!

  • I've always wondered about A Tree Grows in Brooklyn but never got around to it.

I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife which I really liked and now I'm starting The Gatecrasher and While My Sister Sleeps. I'm only about 5 pages into them so not sure if I like them yet or not.

  • I just read Pope Joan, which I know may sound boring but it was great historical fiction novel!  Right now I'm reading In the Woods by Tara French.  Not far enough into it to say if it's good yet.
  • I just finished Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson. It is def a fun summer on the deck kind of book.

  • I just finished 19 minutes by Jodi Picoult- it was really good. ?Before that I read all 4 of the Twilight books- THose were AWESOME!!?
  • I just finished Gilead, it's about religion but also a "story". I enjoyed it for the most part. I feel like some of it really "spoke" to me.  It made some good statements about God and interpreting some of the Bible. But  some of it was also over my head and I feel like I need to read it again someday when I am older and smarter, ha! I am now reading The Art of Racing Through the Rain. Super easy to read and a sweet story so far. It is written from the perspective of a Dog, about what he thinks and what he goes through with his human family. It has made me feel very guilty about the attention I do NOT give my dog:(
