I love this thread. It is very amusing being a teacher, taking notes away in class, and wanting to spell-check their notes. I have seen "hoar" more than I would like to admit.
Do you know that my friends and I had a mass email going for a few days trying to figure this out. LOL. We all kept debating it back and forth. I think the consensus was "ho".

My old roommate was an English teacher at a juvie. They refused to do their work but would write her love letters and poems and whatnot, so she started grading them and giving them back. You should totally do that! lol

LOL I totally should! I have done told kids before (ones I am closer to) um, hey, you spelled that wrong. There is a "c" in that word.
Re: Grammar: Is it hoe or ho?
ho
A hoe is a gardening implement.
ho
unless you want to refer to the gardening instrument, then I think it's "hoe"!
LOL @ Eddie Murphy.
Whore is a good way of remembering it.
It's one of those things I've said correctly in the past and have seen it used incorrectly and then gotten all mixed up.

Pretty sure it is "Ho". No "e" in "hobag" either.

Although some may argue that it's perfectly acceptable to drop the "r" and make it "hoe" that way. Just sayin'.
Damn! Now you're going to get me all confused again!
