Absolute best dessert find for pregnant women!

Hi Ladies,

I thought that I needed to post this as a PSA for pregnant women everywhere. I have discovered THE best ice cream ever! Edy's Grand Light Take the Cake. It's yellow cake flavored ice cream with icing swirls and sprinkles mixed in. It is absolute heaven! I figure I can even justify having it more often because it has 1/3 less fat and calories than regular ice cream and can kind of pass as a dairy serving. WARNING: MAY BECOME ADDICTIVE! EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

P.S. Do not let your husband in on this one because you will be forced to share. I speak from experience.

I am going to have to disagree. Last week I discovered that my two dear friends, Ben and Jerry, make a cheesecake ice cream w/ chunks of cheesecake brownie swirled in. What I love about it is that the cheesecake flavor is really sour like a good cheesecake.

I have never heard of this brand. Is this an East Coast tease?

That sounds yummy. I love any ice cream with cake in it. It's a good thing I don't live near a Coldstone because their Boston Cream Pie concoction would be the end of me - French vanilla ice cream, chunks of pound cake, hot fudge, and whipped cream all mixed together in that special Coldstone way. Heaven!

As I started to read this, I thought of DH because he Loves cake flavored ice cream. There is no way to keep him out of ice cream once it's on the house! Maybe I'll buy some next week for his b-day so I can have an excuse to eat a little, too! Wink

THIS!!! I love most things that B&J have concocted, but the One Cheesecake Brownie (yes, I know the name!!) is the best, like you said, perfect cheesecake flavor.

and to OP, I have had the Edy's cake flavor and it is also delicious!!

I tried this Cheesecake Brownie ice cream and I actually wasn't a fan- and I LOVE cheese cake AND brownies so I thought I might die eating it! Actually, I gave the rest to DH so I didn't waste it because I wasn't impressed.. sorry to say.

I can't remember the brand, I want to say maybe it's also Edy's- who ever it is they make a toll house cookie ice cream! YUM! And I love the girl scount Samoas ice cream that's limited edition/seasonal.

It's a good thing I can't leave work on a break... Cool

Yes, Edy's is the East Coast equivalent to Dreyer's. Apparently, when Dreyer's wanted to become national (spread to the East) they didn't want to be mistaken for another brand of probably-east-coast ice cream "Breyers" so they changed their name. HTH!

If you live in the Buffalo area, Perry's Piece of Cake ice cream is the best cake flavored ice cream I've ever had.

My recent fav for ice cream has been Hagen Daaz Honey Bee ice cream. Completely all natural (there are like 6 ingredients total) and tastes like honey from the jar. Delicious!

OMG no Edy's?!?!?!?! I've been eating it for over 10 yrs so its probably not a tester but must be an East Coast thing. Its the best. I am addicted to their Ice Cream Sandwich flavor, sooooo good.

Edys is the same as Dreyer's--I was really confused to see the wrong name on the brown and white ice cream containers when I moved to Chicago, then I figured it out.
