Ideas of places to go to escape the heat?

DS and I have been dealing with the heat as best we can.  But he gets really cranky at the peak heat of the day, which lasts in our place for a few hours.  Of course the next few days are supposed to be worse.  Any ideas of places to go to get out of the heat besides a store?  I feel silly wandering around a mall or other store just to "borrow" their a/c, and I don't think he'd deal well with a movie since he'd throw a fit if I wouldn't let him get down on the floor.  I'd buy an a/c unit, but it really isn't in our budget right now.

    I plan to just walk the mall over and over again... sorry no great ideas.

    Thanks anyway ladies, DS and I are off to walk the mall!  =)'  DH is going to order us an a/c unit.  He and I can suffer it out, but DS and our dog aren't faring as well.  Our poor pup pup spent yesterday panting all day =(

    Not sure about your local library, but those are often a/c'd. Good suggestion on OMSI - I believe their play area is pretty cheap. GL!

    Need groceries?  LOL Trader Joes was SUPER cool yesterday!  My DH and I walked in and it felt SOOOO good!

    Washington Square has the kid play area. So, you know you're not the only one borrowing the mall's ac.

    Also, you might try rent-a-center for an ac unit. It'll be cheaper than buying one. They'll install it for free and come get in whenever (like the end of September) you're done with it.

    haha sounds like the mall is going to be packed w/strollers! :) that's where i usually go or the movies, so i'm not a big help. thankfully we got a window a/c thing memorial day weekend so my room is nice and cool for me and LO. Hope y'all are doing ok. Just remember to drink lots of water.
