What is a sprinkle?

I realize it's some form of a baby shower, but what does it entail?

It's just a mini-shower, often for 2nd+ time moms. A chance to get some light gifts (books, diapers, formula, etc), without looking like you're asking for much. Just a different title to take away the guilt.

I think it's normally done after the baby is born.

Well I don't think there is a formal definition but it is generally a small baby shower where the gifts tend to be clothing and diapers (because the mother has the "big stuff" from a prior child.)

It could be lunch, cake and punch or something else.

Oh and congrats on making it to second tri. We were on the loss boards at the same time.

There are some really cute ideas for Sprinkles if you do an online search. We did something small for a coworker that was already on bedrest last year.I used some sprinkle ideas online to come up with a really cute poem for the 'invitation'.

I would love to host a Sprinkle for someone after all the ideas I found.

I am having one--and honestly the only thing different is the size of the guest list--

I had three showers (huge with 50+ people) for DS

however that was 5 years ago and we are having a girl this time, SIL and sister wanted to do something, but I didnt want a full blown shower--

the guest list is about 30 for a luncheon at a tea house . . .. however it doesnt seem too much different from some showers I have been to--Im super excited--it is in three weeks
