I'm 41 and TTC for the first time. I have heard of accupucture helping others to concieve and thought I'd try it. I have had 4 treatments so far. I did not concieve the first month but very hopeful this month.
Has anyone done this? and how did it work for you.
Re: Accupuncture/pressure
It really doesn't hurt. There is a prick when the needles are removed but no big deal. I was nervous at first but now it is relaxing. I literally feel movement and changes in my body.
He suggested things for me to eat and also recommended Red wine.
Hi and welcome to the board.
How did your first 4 sessions go??
I am starting accupuncture tomorrow. I am going to try it throughout my second IVF cycle. The REs office gave me a referral. I am not convinced it will make a difference but I am willing to try anything. There is some research (not sure of the quality of this clinical data) that shows an increase in preg. rates with accupuncture. My RE does not make any claims that acc. will help with the IVF but she does feel that it helps with the stress and despression that tag-along with IF treatments.
Go luck with your next cycle - Im hopeful for you to, this could be the month for you!
He rec. recommended red wine - awesome!!!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the accupuncture - it is helping me get excited about going tomorrow.
My first 4 sessions have all been different. The first session and this last session have been the unusual. By that I mean that I can feel movement inside me. My first visit I mentioned to the Dr ( a chinese doctor) about the movement. He mentioned that I could have had a blockage and the energy was fighting it. I know it sounds hokey and wierd but I know how I feel after each session.
In addition to the red wine, he suggested that I have sunflower seeds, grape seeds (by the way its hard to find red globe seeded grapes so I bought pills), pumpkin seeds and tomatoes. He also suggested that I stop drinking cold drinks ( he said eggs can't swim in the cold) and drink more green teas and herbal teas. He also gave me herbal pills.
Odd as it may seem, I actually look forward to going each week. My insurance pays for 10 visits. I haven't decided what to do after my 10th visit, hopefully I'll get pregnant.
My husband doesn't think this will help us directly but possibly indirectly and if it relaxes me and puts me in a different state of mind then he is willing to try it. After accupuncture I'll guess I'll pursue medications and any other treaments that may be suggested.
Good luck and be open minded. I'm currently reading what I can about accupuncture.

I was hesitant too but it really wasn't bad.
I'm starting to feel behind the eight ball because it seems as if everyone here is trying other means and I'm not.
Let me know when you start and what you think. Good luck
MrsKario,
How did your appointment go with accupuncturist?
