We're going to do it and go for Baby #2 who is due just a couple of months after Payton! There are a few hoops to jump through because s/he is American Indian, but we're prepared and things are looking pretty good!
Yay! Congrats!! So excited for you...craigslist will be your best friend when you go to look for doubles of everything! I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.
(p.s. Being of Inupiat descent, generally the best term to use is Native American.)
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
Thanks for the correction Sally -- I should have known that, she (birthmother) has been referring to it as AI all morning in our emails and it was just at the forefront of my mind. I'm 1/32 Cherokee myself. And I'm sure I will have lots of questions!

FWIW: this will always be a debate and neither is wrong according to tribal affairs groups and most actually would rather be known by their tribe affiliation (instead of saying they are NA or AI .. say they are Cherokee or a member of the navajo tribe, etc).
Anyway - congrats! This will be the most difficult and exciting adventure!
Ohhh i'm so jealous lol. We told our agency we really wished a situation would come along for us to adopt a child of any native american descent.
My great grandma was full Cherokee and the other side of my family has Indian in it also. Both sides are very keen on our Indian heritage! Plus my DH's stepfamily are all full Indian!!
If it's a girl, I like Poppy Grace. But my DH is determined to get Landry in there somewhere (and he thinks we're only having two kids...little does he know...), so it might be Landry Grace.

My BFF has been trying to get anyone who will listen to name their girl Poppy! Sooooo cute!
Grace is our girl middle name pick too. But that is about as far as we have gotten. lol??
It is a lot of P's! But I love Poppy so much if he agrees, I'll just stutter P-p-p-p-p and one of them will listen (hopefully).
DH picked both Payton (Walter Payton) and Landry (Tom Landry). So I figure I should get to pick names eventually! I would love another girl so they can share a room, but would be absolutely thrilled with a boy too!
Re: We're certifiably crazy now...
WOW, that is amazing!
