    between this and the couple that let rats eat their 6 week old son's toes and listened to him scream and watched all of it in Texas yesterday...I am just sick.

    Unfortunately, this happened in my city.  I had to hear about it at 6am when I got up for breakfast...I'm intentionally avoiding all news tonight because I don't want to hear any more.  

    It's a heartbreaking story.

    After having worked a year on a very high risk psych ward, I can tell you stories until next week about the power of a mind (and an unwell one at that)

    I had a guy who once took a knife and like he was just cutting up an apple, took out his own testicles, and then threw them in the creek. All so the japanese would not steal his steam engine designs. He would explain this to you in plain english as if he were telling you how to separate your whites and darks to do laundry. It's just how it was in his mind.

    I have a 100 of those. Not saying it's right. Just, well, sayin. ;-/

    I'm also very glad that they're getting counseling for the police who had to witness this and investigate.  One of my closest friends is an EMT and I am so thankful he was not working and did not have to be involved.

    Like Davez I've done plenty of time working with the mentally ill in a hospital setting and could tell you all things that would make you never want to leave your house again... clearly this woman is severely mentally ill, I can't believe for a second that this was a purposeful act in a lucid state...

    That poor poor innocent baby.

    The need was to share how upset it made me. To prevent someone else from seeing it accidentally. I said not to click it. I was very clear.  I am still shaking with how upset it made me. I happened upon it, it was unavoidable, I would prefer the people I care about learn about it in a less graphic way than I did. Like poor Sara1014 who heard it at breakfast this morning. I am sure it is all over the tri or other boards. Better to have it here where I can warn you first.

    I didn't even click on the link because I knew from the responses that it would be really disturbing.  How awful....poor baby.  Thanks for the warning Robin!

    wow. that's easily the most disturbing thing i've ever read. ever.

    and to think that the officer said it was too horrific to describe any further. i can't even imagine.

    I know Robin is great and it's not intentional.  The link shouldn't be on any board.  I wish I had time to read/watch the news.

    That is what happens when psychotic conditions go untreated. That poor family, what a nightmare. She really should not have been allowed to be by herself with the baby.

    That poor woman must have has such awful things going on in her head to do this.  Yes, she should be locked up forever and what she did was horriffic, but the nightmare of mental illness that must have grasped her, I can't imagine.
