I start Follistim tomorrow (no more Clomid, yay!!). I'm just wondering what your s/e were/are. Are they comparable to Clomid? Feel better? Worse?
Also... I am thinking about doing B2B IUIs this cycle because this is my last month of summer vacation and I think we should be as aggressive as possible. What do you know about the pros/cons to doing B2B IUIs?? We are OOP on IUIs, so it will cost around $500 for two of them.
TIA!!
Re: Tell me about Follistim and/or B2B IUIs
Follistim was completely different for me than Clomid. I was less moody on Follistim and I didn't have hot flashes like I did on Clomid. However, Follistim made me exhausted and very very very bloated. I would go to sleep at 9:30-10 p.m. every night after the shot when on a regular night I'm usually up until midnight. The bloating was very unconfortable for me too and no matter how much water I drank it would not go away. Follistim didn't interfere with my estrogen (while Clomid did) and as a result I have better lining this cycle.
There are mixed research studies on B2B vs 1 IUI. If money is an issue, I would just go with one IUI if you have no MIF and BD the next day.
I am in the midst of a Clomid/Follistim and B2B IUI right now. I just had the first IUI done and the second will be tomorrow. So far - great results! I think I stimmed for a total of 6 nights and have one 22mm follie to O today.
My biggest side effect was mild morning nausea and it wasn't every day.

I'm on Follistim now for IUI#1, and so far so good. I little tired, a little bloated, and have had a couple of dizzy spells...although I'm not sure if that's the Follistim's fault.
I asked my RE about B2B IUI's, and he said he doesn't do them because there is no evidence that shows it produces better success rates.
