I don't have a Moby, but I use a Wrapsody Bali Breeze wrap with my own newborn. I LOVE it. "Love" might, actually, be too inadequate a word for how I feel about my wrap lol. The learning curve is a bit steeper than some other types of carrier, but it is so worth taking the time to learn to do it properly. There are so many different ways you can wear a wrap, it's suitable from birth until your LO is too big to carry!
I had a really hard time with the moby wrap when she was a newborn.. I just never felt like she was secure enough in there.. When she was a newborn I used my hotsling TONS..

m/c 1/2/08 and 3/12/08 Eve Amelia- Born 2/24/09. 6lb 9.9oz
Natalie Ruth - Born 6/13/11 7lb 6.6oz
I have a Sleepy Wrap and like it better than the Moby, but a stretchy wrap is great for a newborn. You can tuck their head under the wrap, so they aren't flopping around at all. I started using it with Harris from 1 week on. I used it today and it's still great.
EDIT: it was 1 week, not 1 month (so I changed it)
