Ladies, would love some suggestions. My BFF's daughter (9 months old) is now my god daughter. I am not religious and would love to get her a nice keepsake gift. It would be great if I can spend less than $75. Any suggestions on what to get? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
Re: God daughter christianing gift
DDs godmother had her gown preserved and put in a shadow box with a nice letter from her. Really sweet. Don't know how much it cost though.
I scrapbook, so for two of my godchildren I did scrapbooks of their first year for them as the baptismal gift.
I got both my Godchildren the 100 Good Wishes quilt (and embroidered w/ their name and birth date) from RedEnvelope.com. I also got one a ceramic cross to hang in his bedroom and the other a pink bible with her name engraved on it (which was only $20 total at a Christian Family Store, on sale).
There are always good codes for RedEnvelope so just search for one to get a discount

You could go with the mom to pick out a christening gown and then pay for it. If that's a little too iffy pricewise (not knowing what she'll pick out, etc.) you could ask if the mom/dad would like the christening blanket/gown/etc. embroidered with their child's name/date of christening as a keepsake after the ceremony.
My sister bought DS's outfit and also got a blanket that she had embroidered with his name/date. Nice because he can always choose to pick his own christening outfits for any children he may have but use the blanket and pass it down to his children.
