thanks for all your advice - pro and con - related to hiring someone to clean our house. We had a woman come over yesterday - she also cleans my friend's house so I figured a personal reference was a good thing. She hardly speaks any English, but thankfully my husband was there and speaks some Spanish, and her husband came along and he speaks some English. So we muddled through talking about scheduling and payment, and she is coming for the first time on 8/6! I feel some relief thinking about how the house will be taken care of, but also worried about my control issues related to wanting things done a certain way. I also feel like I'm masquerading as someone who can afford to do this!

Re: hired a cleaning lady...
Because we're fancy like that.
WOw.....that is great that you hired a cleaning lady! I have a friend whose husband "loves" their cleaning lady.
Good luck.

yay for the cleaning lady!!! I'm sure you'll love having her. It's so awesome coming home to a clean house.
I would love to have one, but my DH claims we don't need one b/c we have a new house. yeah, I know, it makes no sense whatsoever.
ha! my husband was finally convinced once he realized that his bathroom would be cleaned much more frequently! (we have separate bathrooms for sanity's sake). you just have to find his "hook" to get him interested...
We just hired one too.
She is coming every other week. Mostly to mop kitchen and do the bathrooms.
My DH didn't think we needed one, but refuses to help me clean. So, I made the decision on my own and I am paying her. She is coming tomorrow - so tonight I am pre-cleaning and putting my stuff away so she doesn't hide anything.
I wish I could hire one.
I'm sure after a while the lady will understand how you want things and make sure to do it your way.
DH does not want me cleaning in the 2ww or when pg again - so if I get a bfp we will be hiring one...
I want one but can't bring myself to spend the money as long as we are doing the IF treatments
