U/S at 5 weeks.... anyone?

So I called to notify my Dr about my cramping today (no spotting) & she wants to see me tomorrow-- appt @ 9:45 am cause of my history...

I am a little nervous & confused b/c I thought I was way to early for her to see anything.. I am not sure what she is going to do, I imagine an exam but I know I shouldnt expect to see anything if she does do an ultra sound... right? Anyone get one this early?

My doctor won't do an u/s until around 8 wks. His nurse told me that it's too early to see anything except MAYBE the sac. So if they do an u/s and don't see anything don't be too disappointed, it is probably normal.

My guess would be that they want to confirm a uterine pregnancy... I think they should be able to see a sac if your due date is about right, but I agree, if they don't, try not to worry yet.

I am going through the same thing right now. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday morning to see if they can "find" where the baby is. I hope that everything works out for you! The waiting is the hardest....

I had one at 4 weeks 5 days to confirm a uterine pg. All we saw was the sac in my uterus.

I had a transvaginal u/s today and I got to see the sac. I knew we would not be able to see anything else because of not being very far along.

I had one at 5w2d and they saw the little guy-just a little blog but they could see the heart beat flicker. She told me before we started that she wasn't sure if she could see that much or not, but they could-it was an internal though and I know that makes a difference early on.

We did an u/s at 6 weeks and only seen the sac and a little itzy bitzy gummy bear...the next week at 7 weeks we were able to see the heartbeat.

I had an u/s at 5 weeks and was able to see the sac. The next week I had an u/s and we saw a HB. I'm sure they just want to confirm that the sac is in the right place and no real cause for concern with your spotting. GL!

I was spotting and cramping at that point. They gave me one at 5 weeks to check for a uterine pregnancy and then I went back at 6 weeks to check for growth.

I was scheduled to have my first one today, but I went in last Thursday because I was worried about some spotting I had. I went in thinking I was 6w2d, but baby measured 5w2d. Which, makes sense because I think I O'ed around CD 20.

The u/s showed the gest sac and yolk sac. My OB said everything looked perfectly normal for this stage of a pregnancy. I go in this Friday (I'll be 6w3d) for a follow up and I hope to see the HB then.

I had an u/s at 5w1d, we saw the Gsac and a tiny tiny little yolk sac, but it is totally normal if you dont see a yolk sac this early. GL!
