Re: Poll: Gender??

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? With JLK I knew right when we were matched so no guessing and before that I had no real guess...I dont think..I dont really remember!

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share? With JLK we did know but kept it to ourselves...same with her name.

    3. Those that didnt find out...did you find yourself flip flopping on what you think/thought it would be at the end? We arent finding out what Miracle is...For so long I just "knew" we would have 2 girls first, so much so that when we were matched to adopt boys I was always nervous. So once I found out about Miracle I just assumed girl...no real connection to the baby. At about 28 weeks I started to beleive and started to connect to the baby growing in me and have had boy thoughts and dreams only ever since..Hmmm?!?! I am still keeping my vote for girl though :)

    1. Nope

    2. Nope

    3. Yes! I actually never had a definite idea of what I thought our baby would be. I had a girl dream early on but then had a very vivid dream of delivering a boy and my Dh saying we have a Ryan. My actual delivery ended up being very close to that dream too.

Yea I had a total delvery dream the other day...a long one...and Tony said his name too! Hmmmmm

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? When I was pregnant with Ben, I knew for certain that he was a boy. We didn't find out until after he was gone. With Eve, I thought she was a girl, but I was so scared/nervous about the pregnancy, that I didn't really want to guess one way or another.

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share? We didn't find out. We were guessing until the very last moment. I even remember the labor nurse saying, "That looks like a boy's head to me." Because, you know, you can totally tell the baby's gender by looking at its crowning head...

    3. Those that didnt find out...did you find yourself flip flopping on what you think/thought it would be at the end? Like I said before, I would never really guess. Especially after our 20 week u/s, I remember thinking that I could've seen girl or boy parts. I just didn't know and really didn't give a darn one way or the other. I just wanted my baby with me no matter what it was.

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? For the first 19 weeks I was convinced that I was having a boy...totally convinced.  I called the baby him etc.  Then the morning of my u/s to find out gender I *knew* that I was having a girl....I had a dream that I was having a girl and when I woke up I was convinced that it was a girl.  So yes and no.

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share? Yes and yes.

    3. Those that didnt find out...did you find yourself flip flopping on what you think/thought it would be at the end? NA

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be?  Swore up and down I was having a girl.  I was wrong!

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share?  Yes and yes.  We thought about finding out and keeping it a secret, but decided that wasn't fair.

Are you sooooo excited to find out Libby!!!!

Yes and no...Honestly I LOVE LOVE LOVE being pregnant...I already know I will miss this..And I am pretty scared to be a mom again. But I cant wait to meet this new little person and see Tony share in the moment of birth (I am actually really excited about Labor!)  And I cant wait to see the relationship I hope will form between our 2 kids!

  • 1.  Yes!  With C I dreamt that I had a baby boy...  the night before we found out I was pg.  (So I was barely pg).  I thought all along he was a boy.  (But there was also that dream that I gave birth to a cat... glad that wasn't true.)

With A I thought I was having a girl, b/c I had much more m/s during the 1st tri.  But then I kept 2nd guessing myself... wondering if my belief that she was a girl was just wishful thinking.  I really didn't want to get my hopes up too much, so I didn't feel as definite. I don't know if that makes sense.  (No cat dreams this time, so at least we knew she was human.)

    2.  Yes we found out.  Yes we shared.

    3. n/a

  • I've never been pregnant, but in just about every single instance I can think of in my family...genuinely, going back for awhile, and on both sides of my family, it's been girls first...so I feel pretty sure our first will be a girl.  But then, it's all up to DH, right?  And he's the oldest!  Though, his mom was one of two girls, dad's oldest sibling was a girl...so yeah, I'm convinced 99% we'll have a girl but it will be interesting to see how I feel when I actually am PG someday.

Also, we don't plan to find out the sex of any pregnancies.  I'm completely in love with the idea of being surprised during delivery...I really don't think my mind can be changed about this...but then again, like I said, who knows how things will change when the time comes?? :)

Aw, I totally get you on all of your feelings!!!  Libby, you are so positive/up beat about pregnancy.  I feel like you are the truest example of how amazing and special it is.  Especially coming from someone who's experienced a pretty challenging pregnancy and symptoms!  You have an amazing outlook!

SO TRUE!!! Your attitude is truly inspirational Libby!

  • 1. I guessed both sexes... as in I would have 'boy' days and 'girl' days.

    2. yep! I was proud of myself for keeping her name a secret! NO WAY could I have found out the sex and been quiet about it!

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? Nope, we were wrong. We thought the twins would be boy/girl or girl/girl. I had several dreams of boy/boy and boy/girl but didn't really have any strong intuition as to one way or another.

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share? Nope didn't find out and if we did, yes we would've shared.

    3. Those that didnt find out...did you find yourself flip flopping on what you think/thought it would be at the end? Since everything was so incredibly fast in the last few days before I had the boys, I was pretty darn sure we'd have a boy and a girl. I did make sure we had enough boy and girl names to go around in case we ended up with two boys/two girls.

  • 1. Yep, I was pretty certain Nick was a boy.

    2. Nope, we didn't find out.

    3. Not really - I only became more sure as the pregnancy went on - especially when I got a PUPP rash as it's more common in women who are carrying boys.

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? Yes.

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share? Yes.

I had boy dreams early on, as did DH.  At our NT scan, I totally thought the baby looked like DH and it just said boy to me.  And I was right.

  • 1. Yup.

    2. Yes to both.

I didn't want to find it out. Thought it would be fun to be surprised (who was I kidding.. I'm a planner.. that would have never worked) but DH quickly talked me out of it and we actually found out pretty early at one of those 3D places so that we could share the news while family was in town.

ETA: I had crazy dreams about having a girl, and ended up having a girl. But in my dreams she looked like a miniature version of me (darker skin, dark hair. etc) She didn't quite come out that way.(see pics)  ;-) But a girl none the less.

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be?  I knew I was carrying girls with my first two pgs, and I was right.  I am just as certain that the third was a boy, but I guess I will never know 100%

  •  With Lexi i felt it was a girl, and really wanted a girl, untill my inlaws said they wanted her to be a girl, and then i KNEW i wanted a boy. But i was in love when she appeared. with Orion, i was instantly sick, and sick all day, so i felt it was a boy, even though i wanted another girl. when I found out i was pg  i was 4 weeks and  on vaca with inlaws. I got sick on the drive to the vaca spot  and my FIL  walked over touched my belly and said "thats my little boy in there".  i wont let him touch my belly again! lol.

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? Yup... but I've never thought I'd have a girl. It was the same when I got my BFP... we weren't officially trying, but when I saw the word "Pregnant" it was just confirming what I already knew... not surprise or anything, just confirmation. It's the same way with him being a boy. I wasn't surprised; I already "knew"

    2. Did you find out and if so did you share? Yup... we just kept his name secret.

    3. Those that didnt find out...did you find yourself flip flopping on what you think/thought it would be at the end? N/A

  • 1. i KNEW it would be a girl but kept wishing for a boy.

    2. yes we found out & yes we told everyone immediately

  • 1. With M, I knew he was a boy from the begining and I was right :-) When I saw the photo of #2 (embryo) my first thought was "it's a boy". No idea why since clearly there is no way to tell that from a picture of an embryo, LOL. Since I'm having more PG symptoms (nausea, tired, etc.) than I did with M, I'm second guessing and saying maybe girl, but that may be wishful thinking.

    2. Yes and yes.

  • 1. Were you right in what you guessed your babe would be? - Yes.  from the time I was 13 i always envisioned myself with a girl. Then a few weeks into pregnancy I just felt like he was a boy and viewed him as a boy, thought of him by his name even.
