Infant car seat is SO hot!!!

I don't remember it being this bad with DS, but DD has been getting so hot and uncomfortable in her infant seat.  It is the same seat we used with DS- he was born in June, DD was born in May so its basically the same time of year.  I have a Graco Snugride and emailed and called Graco to find out which replacement covers will fit our seat.  The only ones they will recommend are the same scratchy, hot material as the one we have.  So in order for DD to be comfortable in her seat, we need to buy a new car seat.  That seems a bit ridiculous.  Anyone have this issue? 

BTW- I know there are other car seat covers out there, but Graco doesn't recommend their use with their seats.  Figures!

    we are having this problem too.  there is a thing you can buy that is like an ice back for the carseat, it sits in it when you are not in the car and keeps the seat cool and then it's not hot when your child is in it and they don't heat up as much.  A friend has it and really likes it.  Hold on i'll see if i can find a link to it for you.

    Thanks!  Thats a great idea, but it says you can't put a child in the seat with the cold pack on it.  Our issue is that the car seat cover is not a breathable material, so DD's body heat (plus the heat outside) makes her so hot!

    Yeah, I thought that too.  I haven't known anyone who used it with an infant seat, but my friend who used it with a convertible says that since the seat is cooler to begin with her DS doesn't get hot like he used to.  Can't say from experience but i'm considering ordering one.

    Find a car seat on gracos website that you like and make sure it matches yours.  So if you have a front adjust sungride look at the front adjust onlys if you have a rear adjust then look at them only.  They have not changed the seats them self but when they bring up your info in the system they only see what cover you have.  When I got one for my safe seat and for a friends sung ride I had to tell them what cover I wanted because all they could tell me was what cover I had.
