Laundry ?

I was talking to another SAHM yesterday and the topic of laundry came up.

She said she did her linens/sheets/towels like once every three weeks and she asked me how often i wash sheet and i told her every week. She looked at me like i was nuts. It is just my routine- every friday i do all the sheets and towels- and put them back on the bed all nice and clean and fresh for the weekend- so its out of the way.

How often do you wash your sheets?

Re: Laundry ?

  • I'm not a SAHM (yet, will be soon though!)

Anyway, just wanted to say you're not nuts.  I wash ours every week too!  It just smells so nice and fresh and I feel so good sleeping on clean sheets, so I'm right there with ya!!

  • I don't wash our sheets every week, but I do have enough "stock" to change the sheets every week.. I just don't want to wash them every week because that would get old real fast. And with our towels, we just have a lot of towels so we can change them out every few days, but I do wash those every week.

  • I throw our sheets and DD's crib sheet in the washer when we get up for church on Sunday, I switch them to the dryer before we leave and then I make the bed up after lunch- when we all take a nap. LOL.

I have always done this on Sunday's. You are not crazy. Unless your friend showers before she goes to bed everynight-she is the cookoo here!! Stick out tongue

  • i change sheets once every 1-2 wks.

  • Every week.  Even when I worked.

I hope she was maybe changing the sheets but leaving them in the laundry room and only washing them every 3 weeks.  I can't imagine sleeping on 3 week old sheets!  Gah!

  • You are not nuts. 3 weeks is a little too long, unless she has couple sets.

I do towels and linens every 3 days (minus sheets). Sheets every week, two at the max.

  • Every week, just like you. I stopped ironing my sheets about 6-7 months ago. YES, I AM that crazy that I even ironed my sheets...........I know - I need help.

I do a load of laundry every day - Sheets get done on Sunday, towels on Monday, Kids' stuff on tuesday, our stuff on Wednesday, and miscellaneous load on Thursday - no laundry on Friday or Saturday, unless it's DS's cloth diapers.........they get done every other day.

  • It's usually every week or every other week in winter.  My DH stinks.  :0
  • At least every two weeks. It just depends on how fast they get dirty. If it rains a lot, they get changed at least once a week because I often forget to shut the bedroom door before I let the dogs back in the house.

  • I wash sheets and towels about once a month.

I *change* the sheets every week though, and I use a fresh towel every couple of days or so.  I just happen to have a LOT of sheets and towels on hand because I hate doing frigging laundry.

  • Yikes! I do mine every week also. ;) I need to find some good sales on sheets so I can stock up and not have to literally wash them weekly but rather just change them out.?

  • Who doesn't LOVE Clean Sheet Day?!?!?

We have several sets so, while DH washes the sheets once a week, on Sundays, I change the sheets every Tuesday and every Friday.  I must be nuts but I don't care, I just love Clean Sheet Day!!!  :)

  • Every 2-3 weeks.  I change DD's every week, at least, but I don't launder them until I'm ready to wash ours.

I change the sheets every week.  I have two pair (that I'm using now) so I alternate them.  I love clean sheets too!  The day I put on my clean sheets I take a shower at night instead of the morning so I have clean sheets and a nice clean body, heaven!

  • Once a week, if not more. We have a dog that sheds and sleeps with us, so they get yucky fast. And I have such sensitive skin that my face will actually break out of I let the pillowcases go too long.
  • I guess I'm slovenly - I sometimes go between 1 and 2 weeks (especially now that I'm pregnant again my standards have gone completely downhill).  And I have extra sets so I wash, dry, fold and put away at my leisure.

  • I love clean sheets, so I try to change them every week, and I change the towels constantly.  We do a couple of loads of towels every week.
  • Every week.

  • You are not nuts! I am a stay at home mom and every monday I deep clean the house. I clean all of the sheets, towels, and blankets on the couch... etc.

I couldn't wait to do the sheets every three weeks.. that's just gross.
