It's 100* outside and he just comes home from work with cinder blocks. I ask him what the hell he plans to do with those...

DH: 'I'm gonna put them in my rucksack.'

Me: 'Why?'

DH: 'And go for a ruck... duh.'

A rucksack is like the Army's version of a big backpack... Like one you would take backpacking. So a ruck is similar to backpacking...
