So yesterday morning I'm getting Jack ready to take DH to the airport. He's a little crabby, but in a generally ok mood. As I'm putting his shoes on (Nikes) all hell brakes loose, and he started SCREAMING. Huge tears, screams, kicks, flails ... you name it.
I thought he was just being silly about putting shoes on (I had a little trouble getting them on) ... but then he didn't stop. He screamed, and cried for a good 15 minutes. I think, 'maybe they're too little?' (hoping not because they're $40 shoes ... a bday gift... and he's worn them like, twice) ... but no, I push down on the toe and he's got plenty of room. He's not trying to take them off ... so I sit him down and play with him, and he would play and then start screaming again.
After 15 minutes, I finally take them off and he immediately calms down. Later, DH goes to take the socks off and put his crocs on ...
His 2nd toe was completely bent UP and held there by the sock. And I SHOVED that little shoe on his foot as hard as I could. *SOB. I felt SOOOOOOOO bad. Poor little dude. Thankfully, he was fine after that ... but I felt like crap for the rest of the morning. Needless to say, he got a popsicle right afterwards.
Re: My 'crappy-momma' moment of the weekend ...
Aww, poor mouse! Don't beat yourself up about it, how could you have known?
Popsicles make everything better, so I am sure he forgave you.
Poor mouse, but don't feel bad, it happens to all of us.
If it makes you feel any better...this weekend I had just put T in her carseat, she was screaming, I checked everywhere to make sure it wasn't pinching her, and low and behold, DH's heavy backpack had fallen on her hand and it was stuck between that and her carseat. I felt terrible
::hugs::
Those darn shoes piss me off! They are SO hard to get on
