Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

Any advice?

Taylor has now vomited twice this morning. Big, exorcist vomits :(  My house and my baby smell sour, I've never given so many baths.  I have a call into the Pedi, but any advice?  I'm assuming just keep her hydrated and rest, but she throws up everytime she eats/drinks.  This sucks.

Re: Any advice?

  • Just try giving pedialyte in small amounts. Hopefully it stays down if you give it to her little by little. I would stay far away from milk though! If she even has the slightest of fever, milk just comes right back up. I am sorry she is feeling so yucky.

  • Yuck! I think there is something going around. I've got a friend and she and her daughter both started vomiting this morning.

But yeah like pp said, pedialyte in small amounts. Our pedi told us once to give like 1-2oz's every 30 min or something and then if it came back up wait closer to an hr to give more. Something like that.

Hope she gets to feeling better soon

  • Thanks, that helps.  The milk this morning and last night came right up, curdledd and sour.  Blech.  As soon as my SIL gets here, I'll run and grab some Pedialyte.

  • Pedi told me 1 tsp of pedialyte. If he keeps it down for 20 minutes give another tsp of pedialyte. If she vomits wait another hour before you give him anything. The doctor said he needs to be vomit clear for an hour before anything is given. Hope that makes sense.

That's exactly what the nurse told me! She's sleeping now, so I will try the Pedialyte later.  Thanks again guys.

  • Yeah, Pedialyte is my only suggestion, too. Glad to hear she's sleeping. Hopefully she'll wake up feeling a little better. Poor babe.
  • Caleb hates the Pedialyte drink and will not take it, so also grab some of the Pedialyte popsicles (just in case). Hope she feels better soon! Poor thing.
