Day care prices

Hi everyone!

I JUST found this board (looks like it doesn't get much action!).  I'm not currently pregnant, but my husband and I will most likely start trying around the end of December, 2010.  I'm looking into the cost of daycare, as that is the biggest financial obstacle we need to meet.  I'd like to try for part-time daycare.  We live in Lincoln.

Can anyone give an as to how much they pay?  For full time, I've heard anywhere from $180/week to $200/week.  I've emailed some daycares in the area and am waiting for a response.

Thanks for your help!

  • I live in cumby...we use an in home day care and pay $130 a week (full time) including food,

  • I am a SAHM, but when I was thinking about going back to work I looked at a few centers.  Full time in the infant room at an ELC was $275/week (North Kingstown) and $324/week (Jamestown).  I quit my teaching job instead!  Home daycare is much cheaper.  An in-home nanny is about $10/hour. • I will be paying about $190/week for about 32 hours of daycare in Smithfield at Children's Workshop

  • I work in MA and will be bringing our child to daycare there.  It's $57 a day ($285 a week).  The benefit for me is that I won't have to pay to hold my spot for the summer or over vacations.  I'm a teacher and this was a HUGE plus for me.

I looked at a center in Pawtucket for $180 a week.  It was a dump compared to where our child will be going.  There was no comparison at all.
