Sunburn Remedy?

Does anyone know of any at-home remedies that are safe for sunburns? I've found putting milk on a washcloth and applying soothes, but didn't know if anyone else has tried anything else with good result?

Thanks!

  • Cold Noxema face cream....it's the best ever!  And it smells great.

  • Oh! That's an awesome thought! That would work good too because it's worse of my face than anywhere else! Thank you!
  • yep, Noxema. been doin that since i was a kid. also, they have cooling aloe with menthol in it (not sure if that would cause a problem w/ baby), but it's nice
  • Noxema is great...so is aloe and oatmeal baths.

  • I've only had bad sunburn 2 or 3 times, but ended up with a welting chest from sunburn in Mexico one year.  I was in a hotel so had limited resources.  I steeped regular chamomile tea pretty strong, then let it cool off and wiped it on with a washcloth.  The chamomile did wonders!!!

  • White vinegar... it doesn't smell great but it helps so much!  When I was younger my friend & I laid out and we were burned to a crisp all over.  My ex-bf told me about the vinegar and although we were skeptical we tried it (I always put plenty on using a washcloth or cotton balls).  The next day we had gone from bright red to light pink!

This!  Vinegar also works wonders on non-sun related burns!  :)

  • 100% aloe vera always helps my sunburns =)  If you want it to really soothe put the bottle in the fridge for a while.
