OBs on West Side

I have panic/anxiety disorder and am going to need to find an OB. I just got a positive pregnancy test! I'm on meds that are as safe as possible during pregnancy (and just saw my psychiatrist yesterday). I wouldn't be able to have a healthy pregnancy without meds. Anyway, I'd like to find a doctor who's good with people like me - somewhat phobic about medical stuff (how am I going to get through this??) and someone who is calm and reassuring. If anyone has anyone in mind, that would be great!

    I'd suggest Kristin Ekman or Sharon Sutherland - think they're both great and take their time with patients.  I see Ekman and really like her, but will say her office staff can be great at times and not so great at times.  And both deliver at Fairview Hospital.

    I went to Dr. Ekman for years and LOVED her.  Her office staff was ok, but they have gotten to be HORRIBLE!  I had to switch.  I found Dr. Judette Louis she is at Metro and she is wonderful!  She delivers at several hospitals and I plan on going to UH to deliver.

    I also saw Ekman, but had no problems with her staff. She is good but very high energy and fast, so you really have to push her to slow down if you need her to spend more time with you.

    Depends on how far West you're willing to go.  I have Depression, ADHD, Anxiety and a hint of Bipolar.  My doctors will not put me on ANY medication and I'm just TTC.  I've been off meds for almost a year and at times it's hard, I mean REALLY hard but my OB is really working with me and my psychologist/psychiatrist to help me get pregnant and stay pregnant.  I go to Dr. Stokes at Northcoast in Elyria/Amherst.  GREAT guy very matter of fact.  He also happens to be a heart surgeon.  That would be my suggestion.  The ultrasound tech is a little odd but she's good at what she does.  Good luck and hang in there!

    I go to Dr. Colangelo in Westlake and LOVE her and her office.  She was my doctor when I had my DD and she delivered her at Fairview (which was awesome).  There is another doctor in her practice and I saw him once and really liked him as well.
