DD never stops nursing. The only time she does is if we supplement with formula. I don't know if I'm not producing enough milk or what the issue is, but its aggravating. She nurses for 30 min on each side per feeding, then we take a break for a half hour and start all over again. We give her 4 oz of formula before we go to bed at night and she will sleep for 5 hours, and then get up and start the vicious cycle all over again. She falls asleep while nursing, then when I detach her she screams. I've tried keeping her awake (touching her cheek/chin, even tried the cold washcloth), but she just wants to nurse till she falls asleep, then nurse again once I detach her. God forbid I lay her down so I can go to the bathroom or something! Anyone else have a baby like this?
Re: She never stops eating!
DS is nearly a month old and we're still nursing for 45-60 mins at a time. From weeks 2-3 he would eat for 30 minutes or so and then go about 2-3 hours between feedings. For the past week we have been back up to 45-60 minute feedings every 1.5 - 2 hours.
I'm looking forward to seeing what others say
That's pretty much what 2 week old babies do - live on the boob.
She sleeps longer with the formula because it takes her longer to digest it. Be careful supplementing; you are still establishing your supply and even that one formula bottle can make your supply take a big hit in the long run.
Your only job in the first few weeks is to hang out and nurse/snuggle your baby!

Exactly. I think DS started to space things out around 1 month or so. He still cluster fed for 2-3 hours in the evening until about 2 months, I think. It is really tiring but if you stick with it you'll be rewarded with a great milk supply in the end.
