Does anyone else have a 'plan' for middle names with their children? This LO's middle name is Kloewer which is pronounced Klaver and is DH's grandmother's middle name. It's German. DH said that since his middle name is so 'off the wall' that all our children's middle names need to be. We have chosen Teuscher (pronounced Tysher) for our next child's middle name, whether it be a boy or a girl. It is my mother's maiden name and is also German. So I guess our thing is that all of our children will have German middle names.. although I don't know what we will use after that. LOL! I just want other people's opinions, plans, etc...
I'm bored.
Re: Middle names?
My DD has 2 middle names & my LO will too.
The way we did DD's name was a place (Acadia), a famous artist/musician I like (Layne), a family name (Josette)
So I am sticking to the same formula for my girl's name & boy's name.
girl: (musician) Imogen (place) Avalon (Family name) Sabina
boy: (family name) Jace (musician) Henry (place) Greyskull
Boys in SO's family get their dad's name as their middle name, so the guesswork is taken out of that.
LO is supposed to be a girl, however, in which case every middle name I've really felt anything about were namesakes (Chantal - my host sister from Germany; Josephine - my Mexican matriarch of a greatgrandmother)
We're using SO's father's name as a middle name, which happens to be Michael. If we have a boy next, it'll be my father's name which is Jack. Likewise, if it is a girl, it will be my mother's name which is Faye.
I like honoring family in the name to give it meaning.
My DH and I both have our fathers first names as our middle names...
Mine is Dawn...(dad is DON)
and DH's is Joseph
Our LOs middle name will be Dawn. If we have a boy in the future I would really like to use my grandfathers first name, James. If we have another girl...not sure what we would do.
We are naming our son after DH...Christopher Michael (Jr.).
If we have a girl in the future, her middle name will be Jean after my Grandma.
Mama Jan's Kitchen... a food blog
Both of my sisters and I have the same middle name, Marie. It was my grandmothers first name.
my sister and I have my Mom's name for are middle name. I don't mind it, but it has become somewhat of a "joke" that anything/person that enters the family that is a girl has the same middle name (yep my sis and I named our dogs shelly sue and abigail sue)
We decided the middle name for the first child was going to be Alexander (if a boy) and Alexandra (if a girl). It's a family name (my husband, my sister, and my aunt).
