29/30 weeks for baby shower?

Is that too early?

 My mom wants to have my shower at the beginning of November to try and avoid the holiday rush. She feels if we wait till later it will get busy with thanksgiving, xmas parties, christmas, etc.

I didnt think it was too early but I just received a baby shower invite and her shower is less than a month from her due date.

Should my mom plan for that or is it too early?

    Mine was early and trust me, you'll be thankful for all the time to prepare and put stuff away and things like that!  Mine was held early for DS because they didn't want it to conflict with my sister's bridal shower, so they just did mine sooner rather than later.  It worked out well in the end!

    I think that's fine. 

    I actually had one at 23+W and my work one will be in 2 weeks.  The other one I had to drive 4 1/2 hours for and i'm not allowed to travel in the 3rd tri, it was the only weekend that worked.

Mito-Disorder has been mentioned

    DD2(2.5): Late term premie due to PTL, low fluid & IUGR, Reflux, delayed visual maturation, compound heteroygous MTHFR, PFAPA, Bilateral kidney reflux, Transient hypogammaglobulinemia, EDS-Type 3

    Heck, go for it! We're having my shower at 19 weeks (so my little sister can be there) which I know is super early but we decided that having important people there was more important than waiting a few more weeks! Plus, I think it's smart to try to avoid the holiday rush! Enjoy your shower!

    I think its fine. I wish my mom would have mine a little earlier to avoid the holiday rush. Your guests will understand!

    I think its fine! I had one at 21 weeks and am having another at 30. People will probably appreciate it not being too close to the holidays too.

    Mine is at 30 weeks, I want time to wash and set everything up. I think that time is perfect!

    I will be 27 weeks.  I wanted it to be early so I wouldn't be so big and uncomfortable.

    I'm my shower will be at 24 weeks because I refuse to be so big that I cannot bend down to pick up presents...  Not only that, putting everything away or together will be a huge task since this is our first, and we are starting from scratch.  I'm not going to be inconvenienced, I'm the mom... I get to pick how far along I am when the shower is thrown.  I don't think it should matter how far along you are when you have your party.  Rock on!

    Not too early at all.

    I'm sure your guests will appreciate that it's not in the midst of holiday craziness, too. That time of year is so stressful and hectic!

    I've always thought some people have their baby showers too late.  What if you go into labor early and miss it?  I think having it a little "early" is good.  Plus her reasons are good and I'm sure your guests will appreciate your consideration of the upcoming holidays.

    Mine will be Nov 14th and I will be 30 weeks then.  I was concerned that that would be too early, but I like that it will be before the Holiday rush and stuff.

    I will also be 28 weeks, it was the last weekend before school starts back up for me and DH. We're driving 600 miles to be there, all our friends and family are out of state!

    I'm having mine at 29 1/2 weeks.  That was the only time that worked for all of our family.

    My CWs are throwing one for me next week - I'll be 37 weeks. The date wasn't my choice, but I wasn't expecting a shower at all, so it's fine. But, earlier is definitely better IMO - then you can finish getting everything else together afterwards without being rushed. Go for it.
