Thankful Thursdays on Friday

Sorry guys. I have been really slacking on the Thankful Thursdays these past few weeks. I get my days all messed up lately. So we will have a Friday version of them. Let's hear all the good things going on!

    Having my DH home for about 7 weeks (he is a teacher) has been a lifesaver this time around.  I am getting more sleep, I have taken way more showers and I am getting out of the house more than I ever did with our oldest son (which we had two days before the start of school so he didn't really take any paternity leave).

    I am also thankful that our oldest son loves his little brother so much.  It has made his addition to our family so much more seamless and it melts my heart to watch him love that little baby.

     Last, but not least, I am so thankful that we have another healthy baby boy around the house.  We are only having two kids, so I am trying to cherish every baby moment as much as possible.

    Oh, and I am grateful for the horrible, reality TV that is on in the middle of the night.  Otherwise I would feel way more isolated and would be nodding off way too much.

    I am thankful that my Mom is taking Mason tomorrow for an overnight at her house.  Part of me is hoping she calls in the middle of the night to come get him, but I am looking forward to all afternoon and evening with just dh.  We have some things to do around the house and dinner at Anthony's!

    I am thankful for a little mini vacation to Oregon this weekend. It was a last minute thing. The kids Grandma (their Mom's mom) wants to see them. So DH and I will have a bunch of free time while she takes them to do fun things like swimming and the park. Plus we are going to visit some of DH's family while down there. Even though it's only a few hours away, it really makes a difference in our attitudes when we take little trips like this.

    I also want to say how much I am thankful for my Mom. She is such a wonderful woman. She is taking our dog while we are gone, did all the shower invites and mailed them out last week, and she keeps finding ways that she wants to help. I tell her it's not needed, to let others help, but she just won't stop. Her face and how excited she is about Ryder coming is so amazing! I am so glad to have at least one parent that is sharing in my joy.

    I'm way late on this but after the last few days I've had I need to find something to be thankful for and say/write it out loud so that I can try and turn around my mind set.

    I'm thankful for the beautiful flowers that I have been able to keep alive since April.

    I'm thankful for my cats who somehow know when I'm not feeling well or am upset and always come and cuddle close trying to make me feel better in their own way.

    I'm thankful for my words that I can write/type to express myself when I feel like everything is going nutso and I need to get my head on straight.
