Because I LOVE the look. Has more yellow in person. And I like how it pushed smoothly and there was a lot of room to store stuff.
Highchair: I wanted a Graco Comtempo because they fold up so thin that you can place them next to a refrigerator. Our kitchen is small and I don't plan on leaving it all 24/7. We choose this Graco Contempo for our registry just because it was the other colors that were available in the store and not online only, but they have other colors at other stores as well. https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3330192
It got a good rating on Baby Bargains. A rating if I remember correctly. Also my husband will be using this car seat and he drives a 2 door car and it said it isn't really bulky which we liked. https://www.evenflo.com/product.aspx?id=219&pfid=939
convertible car seat: Britax Roundabout... the Britax seats are supposed to be the best and I went with the Roundabout since it's not as big as some of the others and I don't have a huge car
stroller: I'm using the Graco Snugrider with my infant car seat and the Maclaren Quest Sport for when he grows out of that. I don't want anything too big or bulky so I'm not going with a full travel system. I also wanted to go for the best quality (I'm hoping it will last through multiple kids) and I had to consider DH's height--he's 6'4" and I want him to be comfortable pushing the stroller
highchair: I chose the fisher price zen high chair... the fisher price high chairs are supposed to be the best quality and the zen one is the only one that looks nice
I relied heavily on Baby Bargains to make all of these choices
I haven't chosen a convertible carseat yet, but we'll pick a Britax b/c they are so highly rated.
We're getting an UppaBaby Vista stroller because they are awesome. I love the features, that it folds up easier than the Bugaboo Chameleon, that the bassinet is better, that the sunshade is included and attached, etc. I found the stroller class at Buy Buy Babies really helpful for making this decision (in addition to Baby Bargains). FWIW, as a city person, the stroller will be almost like a car for us, so finding one that we love and that is really durable and sturdy was very important to us.
I'm also getting the Graco Contempo high chair, for the same reasons as TeamRey. It's the top rated high chair by Consumer Reports and I think that this review is also helpful.
We got a different pattern exclusive to costco at a MUCH better price than BRU ($219 rather than $399). We will use this carseat for the first year and then look at getting a convertible at that point.
I chose the highchair because it is VERY adjustable (can raise or lower it and the seat back is adjustable). It is also easy to remove the tray with one hand. As an added bonus, it matches out travel system.

What convertible carseat, stroller system, and highchair are you resgistering for and why?
TIA!!!
1. I'm still looking into convertible car seats... I only got through the infant seat section of Baby Bargains! So yes I'll be stalking this thread to read all replies...
because the Snugride car seat got the best ratings from BB and even though they say to avoid travel systems, I have a big enough vehicle to accomodate it. (The convertible will go in DH's truck.) Oh, and it's adorable.
was the best safety and easy-to-clean rated from BB... and I was tired that day and just slapped the thing on my registry to be done with it. The pattern is pretty darned loud, I must say.
Convertible carseat: We bought the Britax Roundabout, but ended up buying the Marathon as well. The Roundabout is great b/c it's a bit smaller, but it only goes up to 40 pounds. The Marathon goes to 60 or 65.
High chair: We have the safety first seat that attaches to a regular chair (similar to the Fisher Price Space Saver). We removed all the padding (it's a pain to ALWAYS have to wash). It reclines for feeding infants, can be used as a standalone with the tray for older babies, and, with the tray removed, can be used as a booster seat for older kids (DD used it until she was almost 3). We also take it with us when we travel and have an extra one at both grandparents houses.
Stroller system - we bought the graco snugride and metrolite stroller. They've held up really well and will be used again for baby #3.
Haven't looked into convertible carseats yet. We will be registering for the Chicco Cortina Stroller with the Keyfit 30 Carseat for our travel system. However this is a larger travel system so we also plan to get the Baby Trend Snap and Go for quick errands and such. We got the Evenflo Expressions Plus Car Seat. I had been debating between that one and the Graco Contempo, but went with the Evenflo because I was able to get one brand new for $15 so I could pass up the deal. Although I do not have the BB bargains book. I did quite a bit of reasearch looking at Consumer Reports and Customer Reviews for our choices.
I haven't chosen a convertible carseat yet, but we'll pick a Britax b/c they are so highly rated.

Thanks for posting the review on the Graco Contempo. I have not seen that one before
Convertible Carseat = Britax Marathon Stroller System = Chicco Keyfit 30 + Cortinia Stroller High Chair = Chicco Polly High Chair
Convertible Carseat we registered for because it is one of the safest ones out there hands down. My husband works in the car insurance industry and we won't mess around with safety in a vehicle.
Stroller and high chair we registered for becuase I used to work at Babies R Us and each time that I would demonstrate these products I was the most impressed with these items. I felt they were safe and had a lot of great features that we felt would come in handy.

Yous two helped me change my mind on the high chair... thanks!
Stroller: We got the Bumbleride Indie (I lucked out and found one almost new on Craigslist - they bought it and used it for their nephew and then found out mom was having twins so they had to upgrade.)
Carseat: Coccoro in Keylime - I'm going to use a sling/carrier instead of the detachable carseat carrier.
Highchair:The Stokke Tripp Trapp. Not sure which color, yet. I like that when it's not in use by the baby - or when the baby outgrows it, we can use it for extra seating in the kitchen. We like to entertain and we always run out of seats.

Well, I'm not registering this time, but I can tell you what I have and why.
CC - Britax Roundabout: Britax get a very high safety rating consistently. The Roundabout is slightly smaller than the Marathon and fits well rear facing in my Vue. I also liked the pattern (floral) I plan on getting another Roundabout for the new baby and highly recommend the seat. I should add that DD is about average in height and slightly below average for weight. Larger babies might want the Marathon.
Travel System - Chicco Keyfit and Cortina stroller in (I think) Manhattan. I wanted the Keyfit because of it's safety rating from Consumer Reports. The travel system is a little less bulky than some of the other ones out there. If I were going to do it again, I would get the carseat but not the travel system. I wouldn't get a travel system at all, actually. However, if I were forced to choose one, this one was pretty nice. (I still use the stroller as a walk around the neighborhood stroller.)
Highchair - Chicco Polly in the Sahara pattern. I liked the other Chicco products I registered for. The highchair folds up nicely, wipes down nicely, and is easy to adjust to different heights. I think highchairs are pretty similar, but I like mine and would recommend it.
I did a lot of Baby Bargains research before purchasing all of these items.

I didn't register for a convertible car seat. We bought the following travel system:
https://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3452534&cp=2582970.2582970&parentPage=family
We got a different pattern exclusive to costco at a MUCH better price than BRU ($219 rather than $399). We will use this carseat for the first year and then look at getting a convertible at that point.
This is the highchair we registered for:
