3rd Trimester

My "Thank You's" dilemma:

I have serious carpel tunnel going on.  I attempted to write thank you's the other day and made it through two when my hand froze up.  Tingling and cramping included.

So!  I have a ton of Thank You's to write and I want them to be finished before the next ice age, which will be impossible at my current pace.

How tacky would it be to type out personalized messages and print them onto the thank you card itself?  It won't be a generic message, it will be as if I'm writing them, except they'll be printed.

Would you raise an eyebrow if you received a thank you in this format?

  • Wouldn't it hurt just as much to type?

You could do that and sign them or have you hubby fill them out.

  • Maybe DH or a friend could write them for you?
    Lilypie Second Birthday tickers
  • I would skip printing them out and just handwrite a few at a time.  I am sure people will understand if they aren't in the mail ASAP.

  • My Plan is to do a thank you post card from my baby for his shower gifts...so yours sounds more personal then mine...but after all the gifts were for him :) and this way we dont have to do an annoucement also...so cute or atleast i think so!
  • Personally, I wouldn't be offended, but I know many people who would. Strict etiquette says they really need to be hand written. Sorry! PP had a good idea though - can DH or a friend write them out while you dictate?

Typing is the less painful of the two evils.

  • I would raise an eyebrow... I agree with asking DH or a friend to do it, or just do one at a time a couple times a day. Like maybe one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one before bed? It may take awhile, but at least they will get done.

Can your SO write them? i have horrible carpal, and last time around I had DH write most of them and signed it from both of us.

  • I don't think a typed thank you is bad at all. But, you probably want to try and put your actual signature on the cards.

I have the major carpal tunnel going on, too. It seriously hurts to grip a pen right now!

  • I would raise an eyebrow.  I like the idea of asking DH to help.
  • DH's handwriting would probably be more offending than a typed version!  LOL!  Big Smile

Realistically I think I'm going to just do them at a nice slow pace.  I want to make sure my gratitude is conveyed so I will be writing them slowly and surely.

    I appreciate the feedback!

Ditto!  I would never send out typed TY cards.

    That's a great idea!
