MIL rocks

so i usually only take time to post on here to complain or ask questions, but since i have time off from work (not riding horses due to spotting last 2 weeks), i thought i would share a pretty super experience i had last night.

my MIL is difficult, we have a great relationship, but she is a pain sometimes and SMOKES LIKE A CHIMNEY!!!! my DH told her i was pregnant while i was visiting family in the US, and when i came home my house reeked of smoke. DH also hates smoke. i told her politely that since i am pregnant smoke is really bothering me a lot and she never said anything more.

last night we went to have dinner at her house. she usually smokes about 8-10 cigarettes through dinner and dessert and coffee (3 hours). i realized when we got home that neither she nor her brother (who was visiting from 200 miles away and also smokes) had even one cigarette or even went outside to smoke the entire time we were there!

how cool is that? i called her this morning to thank her and tell her how much i really appreciated it (of course it was good for her, too, but i would never go as far as to say that...lol.)

    that's great and so sweet!!! hopefully she'll continue on with this and quit for good!!!

    That's great!  My mom is a big smoker and I'm worried about when I have to tell her, when we go on vaca, not to smoke around me.  She's always gotten pissy about it in the past.

    That's great! I'm lucky no one in my family or in-laws are smokers. I think it's rude when someone who is a smoker tries smoking in my house - even before I was pregnant. I feel bad for the poor soul who tries to light up around me now that I am pregnant lol.

    I am concerned about asking my mom not to smoke around me as well.  We're hoping we can just get her to come to our house all the time since she goes outside to smoke when she's there.
