Charlie Horses....

hurt like hell and I wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy. I have been having them a lot lately and this morning, it was bad. I had to clutch my body pillow as I practically screamed in agony.

Re: Charlie Horses....

  • i always get them in my calf while i sleep. i hate them and wish they would go away. i know that it can be a sign of low potassium so i've been eating a lot of bananas hoping that will help lol
  • Oh, they do!! I had them terrible my first pregnancy. Not so much this time around (or maybe just not yet)

I have heard that adequate water intake and potassium (ie: bananas) help for this. Also, whenever I feel one coming on I gently stretch my toes toward my belly.

    Hope they get better.

  • Yep mine were really bad and I have started eating bananas and they have backed off a bit!!
  • When I wake up in the night with one, I immediately stretch my toes upwards (think: towards your kneecaps). It's the only thing I have found that works, and it works fast. Do it before you even try to get up or rub your leg or anything. HTH.
