Excuse my newb question but.... how many calories am I supposed to be taking in a day now? I know '300 more' but that would assume I knew how many I was supposed to be taking in before.
My OB said no more than 2500. I was dieting before BFP so was probably getting about 1200 daily (well on the good days). I really am not counting calories now--just trying to be mindful of what I eat. So if I have something that I know is not the best I will try and balence it with a salad or something at the next meal.
well depending on how much you took before, probably 1800-2400. I believe if you are an very active (30+minutes of vigorous activity)_woman it's 2400, active woman is (30 minutes of vigorous activity) its about 2200, inactive 2000, and women dieting usualy try 1800 or less. These numbers are prepregnancy. So choose who you are and where you think you fell and then add the 300
My Bradley instructor says "at least" 2500 calories from nutritious foods (ie: The Brewer Pregnancy Diet). ?I think I would be stuffing myself like a turkey if ate more than 2500 cals, which is nice cause I know I don't have to cal count -- there is no way possible I'm going above that number, even with my pigginess.
This really is an awesome link! I think you should do a whole new post with just this link in it. It helps people to truly understand what they should be trying to eat every day!
Re: Newb question about food / calories
It depends on your height/weight, exercise routine, etc.
This is a good question for your doctor.
But aren't you all doctors here?
Thanks ladies!
Depends on your height and weight all that. Ask your doctor, but I used this site for a nutrition class last semester.

Of course! Duh.
And here I am, asking the dumb, newbie questions!
Glad to see the stupid reply, 'you should ask your doctor' is still around. Always loved that one.
