Alaska Babies

*** confessions ***

OK, I'm stealing this from PAL (& I'm sure it was stolen from elsewhere before that...)

I think we need to get to know each other a little better to really get this board rockin'.

So, how about some confessions?  Eat a chocolate bar for lunch today?  Spot your neighbor nude in front of the window?  It doesn't have to be AP related, just share something funny or interesting w/the rest of us!

Re: *** confessions ***

  • I'll go first...

    * I was really sad to have to leave my moms meet up this afternoon, but Evie was in desperate need of a nap.

    * I have a considerable tattoo on the small of my back & my only regret is that I got it before it was so common & now it doesn't feel very original.

    * DH & I are both guilty of eating O's or puffs (etc.) off the floor when DD throws them over the edge of the high chair b/c we're too lazy to open the baby proofed cabinet w/the garbage in it.  Ten second rule, right?

    * I am slightly stressed out about shopping for or suggesting gifts for DD's 1st b-day.  I always feel like I see the coolest stuff AFTER she's gotten all of her presents.

  • *Today is our anniversary. I gave DH his card this morning and recieved no card. He said he was going to get one before today, so I thought maybe he put it in my purse or car or something to suprise me, but so far no. I bet he didn't buy one until today and I get it when I get home. This shouldn't be a big deal, but he didn't get me a mother's day card until the day of too and it just hurts my feelings because it feels like he didn't think about it.

    * After the above I will admit that I almost forgot to get a card until yesterday afternoon.

    * I want to go out to dinner tonight since it is our anniversary. No where expensive or anything since we will have the baby and we are taking a small weekend trip in September for our anniversary, but I just don't want to cook and it seems like a good excuse.

ETA: Now I feel like a jerk - DH got me flowers and a card:)

  • I went to dinner with two friends last night and I didn't have that great of a time.  Felt like a waste to leave DH and a sleeping DS at home to do that.  (Ooh, I feel so bad even saying that.)

I stopped at McDonalds for breakfast on the way into work on Monday.  I *still* feel guilty about that.  But that hash brown was so good.

What's your tattoo and when did you get it?  My sister got one on her back in 2000 and now she hates it for the same reason.

FutureGosnell, I'm very glad your DH came through. :)

  • *At least once a day, I daydream about moving far away and never having to interact with DH's family. Only a small part of me feels bad that my son would never get to know them; they are not good people and I really would rather he didn't.

*I have not exercised in 16 months. It isn't like I just sit on the couch... I am active in everyday situations and DS and I do a lot of walking, but I have not gone out of my way to "work out" since I was 2 months pg.

  • *I swam for a maybe a whopping 5 minutes this morning (this is my exercise). I REALLY need more time, but I'm lazy & have other things to do!

*I spend way too much time socializing on the internet (here, FB, etc.) that I run out of time to actually work (I'm a WAHM & my niece is staying with us for the summer to help out).

Here it is, in all its glory...

I got it in '98.  Thought I was SO cool.  LOL!

  • Christine - I love it! :)

I would really like to get the Tree of Life somewhere on my back...but I just don't have the money OR the nerve to do it! DH has has a dragonfly covering his back (slightly mechanical style) and a scorpion on his forearm.

  • Christine, I think it looks great!

It's a good place for it, too, since you can show it when you want and cover it when you want.

  • Although I would give anything to stay home with DS because a) I miss him, and, b) I feel strongly that we should be his primary caregivers at this point in his life (but alas, this is not possible for us financially), I must admit that part of me does enjoy my time at work.  It's fairly slow, so I feel like it's actually relaxing to be here at times, and when I'm busy I like feeling productive in a completely different area of my life.
Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
    LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
    LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
    Life is beautiful!
