Cloth Diaper sampler?

I remember reading a post a while ago about how you can get a sample of each type of CD from a website for 20 or 30 dollars? I def remember BackThePack talking about it.

And that's all I know. :)

Re: Cloth Diaper sampler?

  • It is from jillians drawers.  It is $10 plus deposit.  I didn't do it, but here is the link:

  • I would definitely try the sampler. And, I would not buy your whole stash until you know what fits the little one the best. I made the mistake of stocking up on Kissaluvs, and unfortunately those didn't fit her well at all. Now she's grown out of them and we barely used them. If I was to do it again, I'd buy the sampler, see which ones fit the best and order more when she gets here. We used sposies the first week or so anyway because of the yucky black poop.
  • lmc - that is interesting. I was thinking of including some CD's in my registry... but you do make a good point.

I was considering doing sposies for the first few weeks, until I got my feet on the ground a little w/ all the other new stuff newborns throw at you.

  • I used disposables for the first 2 weeks as well (ask for extra before you leave the hospital!)

If you do want to throw something on your registry, I'd recommend a one-size diaper like a Bumgenius.  Odds are good that it will fit your kid at some point.

Good to know - I was just looking at the bumgenius ones last night and thinking they looked pretty universal :) Thanks!

  • McJ, if you have any particular kinds of diapers or covers that you'd like to see in person, or if you'd like to see a sampling of a bunch of different kinds, I'd be happy to bring some over to show you. The only kind I don't have is prefolds.

Yes, please! :) That'd be so helpful! I was wondering if there'd be any at the consignment sale this weekend, and hoping you could help me ID them as AIO or whatever others :) Thanks, jenhum!!

  • No problem! I'm going to go put a post it on the door right now so I don't forget the Bjorn and diapers....my mommy brain has pretty much destroyed my memory.

Haha - awesome. I totally have the cash for you for the bjorn with a sticky note tacked to our memo board. Whatever works! :)

  • I also wanted to add that I used disposables the first two weeks with Caroline too.

Her cord was always getting irritated by the big bulky cloth diaper rubbing it when she curled up her feet and it was making it bleed badly, so we switched to disposables until it fell out.?

  • The cord issue probably depends on the diaper.  All of the diapers that we tried had a newborn cutout for the cord and we never saw nor worried about it touching, FWIW.  Newborns diapers are the cutest, not to mention they go trhough so many diapers those early weeks, that I think it'd be a shame not to use them right away! ;)  Kissaluvs with Thirsties covers were our favorite early on, but there are plenty other awesome nb diapers too. :)

This is what I purchased! Well, 15 Kissaluvs and 24 prefolds.

We had 12 Kissaluvs fitteds, 6 xs Sandy's fitteds, 24 prefolds, 2 Nana's Bottoms AIOs, and a few covers.   After a month, when I cold tell we'd still be able to get a lot more use out of them, I bought 4 more Kissaluvs.  We loved those tiny things, and they lasted 4 months!  ENJOY!!!

Oh good! I hope she is on the smaller side and stays in them longer :)
