When do you install your car seat

I plan on going alone to the fire station so they can "teach me how" Wink

We are actually planning on installing ours this week. We were going to wait a week or so but my OB is worried that LO is on his way out in a hurry, so we're just going to go ahead and do it to be on the safe side!

we're slackers and JUST got the car seat base last sunday - so this sunday when dh has off, we are gonna install it!

We are going to wait until the last possible minute because I keep my 17 month old niece during the week and want her carseat to stay in the middle as long as possible.?

we did it today! but ideally I would have liked it done about 2 weeks ago. it was like 10 times easier than we thought it'd be.

We put the base in the other day, but my DH just bought a new truck to fit the car seat and he was REALLY excited to get it in there. I probably would have waited until 37 weeks or so. Enjoy the fire station! My DH is a sheriff, so I didn't get the opportunity.

we are going to do it ourselves this weekend and then have it checked at BRU. They are having a car seat inspection on 8/1 in our town!

Why didn't I think of this? DH is outside installing it right now... we put it in about 36 weeks but we have a rental and just changed cars yesterday. Long story. Unfortunately, the firemen in my town are all probably obese since we're like #3 in the country for fat cities!

We installed ours last weekend. They were awesome at the firestation....but don't get your hopes up. It was women firefighters that inspected ours.

Most of the couples in my childbirth class are 30-35 ish weeks and our instructor said do it now! She said at least make sure you are able to install it, even if you want to take it back out until later. She said you never know if a part is missing or something is defective until you try it out and you don't want to find that out 2 weeks before your due date. We haven't even taken ours out of the box, but I plan on doing it in the next 3 weeks (I have off from work).

I did it two weeks ago but they don't inspect them at the fire station or the police station only at the hospital and the lady there has frosting for brains so I really hope it's in right. I had DH look after I did it and he said it looked good it doesn't move.

I wanted to do it around 35 weeks so I think we'll install the base this weekend. I don't want the car seat in there until we head for the hospital since it's so freaking hot here and our garage is even hotter. I'm hoping to get my hospital bag packed this weekend, too. Kind of surreal that we're already at the point of packing for delivery!
