That is awful! Someone posted a different article on the same story on 2nd tri earlier today, I couldn't believe it. Or how do the dog get outside in the first place, why was the door open?
I really wish news stories would answer the questions about how the dog got outside with a baby in its mouth, how the dog got the baby out of the crib (I'm assuming that maybe the baby was in a bassinet that was more dog-accessible), etc. But regardless, that is so scary! I feel sad for the dog too.
Scary, but I want to smack both of the parents for
1) probably not getting the dog acclimated to the baby (preparing the dogs before the baby even arrived- getting them used to the cries and not allowing them into the nursery, etc..)
2) detaching themselves from the baby long enough for the dog to take the baby out of the crib and outside.... (I'm sure the baby cried or made some sort of noise... could they NOT hear that?!)
and I feel bad that this puts negative attention on the dog, where it was probably just doing a natural, curious thing and the parents should have had more sense to prevent this. I hope nothing bad happens to the dog, except maybe get adopted by another family ( I read that they no longer want the dog in the house) AND of course that the baby fully recovers....poor thing!
