I *try* to get him to eat whatever we are eating. Doesn't always work. I made noodles last night (his fave is noodles of any sort), but I made noodles that have spinach in them. He just thought they were colored green noodles and that was cool to him. They also make noodles that have carrot in them I think.
It's a battle. And usually I just remind myself that he gets a vitamin and he'll be ok. Our pedi said that this is the hardest age to feed (no kidding) and that as long as they eat something not to worry about it too much.

She loves green beans fortunately so we have those at a few different places that we regularly eat out at.
At home, if she's being picky, we usually give her stuff with dairy since she doesn't drink milk. She loves string cheese. We give her yogurt. She likes soup and grilled cheese. We're kind of in a rut right now, but we're just doing the best we can and we're going to have to for a while since I'm 7 months pregnant, lol.
For the most part he eats what we eat. Some things he really likes are grean beans, corn on the cob, boiled potatoes, pasta, cheese quesadillas. He is not a big fan of chicken but seems to like things made with hamburger meat better. He'll eat meatloaf, hamburgers, spaghetti sauce with meatballs for example.
She eats what we eat and if she won't, I won't make her anything different because I do not want her to think she can get her own way. I figure she won't go hungry b/c if she was really hungry, then she would eat.
In a normal week for dinner, she will have mac and cheese, green beans, carrots, peas, ravioli, cheese quesedillas and lots of fruit. I cannot get her to eat any type of chicken or ground turkey (I don't eat red meat or pork so I never cook it). Honestly, she eats her biggest meal at lunch (usually some type of sandwich with fruit and/or cheese) so I am not concerned if she does not eat a lot at dinner. She will sometimes eat a bigger breakfast too (cereal with milk or yogurt and some type of fruit). She also drinks milk with dinner, so at least I know she is getting some nutrition
John usually eats some variation of what we eat. We eat a lot of grilled/baked chicken. Green beans and corn on the cob are his favorite veggies. He is not a big fan of mac & ch. surprisingly. He likes spaghetti with turkey meat but won't eat as much if I make it with ground beef. But yet he will devour a steak! Ravioli is always a go to for us. He eats any fruit except banannas and pineapples. If we have breakfast for dinner I mix a little spinach and cheese into his scrambled eggs. Tonight I am making pizzas with grilled chicken and spinach - this may be a new way to go green for him. He is really into trains and I have found that if I line up his food (pieces of chicken for example) line a train he thinks it is hilarious and will eat the train. Some nights I feel like the mom from "A Christmas Story" - "show Mommy how the piggies eat!"

We have trouble with dinner too. One reason is because we eat at a different time than he does, and it's hard to make him his own meals. The other reason is that he's so tired by the time we get home he really doesn't want to eat much. So we do the best we can and I try not to stress about it. He eats so well at daycare, and they offer him a good variety of things, I feel confident he's getting the proper nutrition.
For dinner we do things like ravioli, sandwiches, mini corn dogs (I know they're not great, but he loves them), or leftovers from our dinner the night before. As far as veggies go, he likes carrots, peas, corn, and green beans. He'll normally eat a decent amount of those on his own. But we also get the Gerber raviolis that have meat and veggies in them, so that's a good way to sneak them in if he's being picky. He loves fruit, pretty much everything, so we don't have issues in that dept. And he loves yogurt. He's not a big fan of mac & cheese either, or cheese at all really. But he drinks his milk so I'm not too worried about dairy. Meats he can be kindof picky with. He'll love something one day, and refuse it the next. But he does pretty good with ham, so he gets that alot. He also likes pork chops and even steak, but we don't have that often. Alot of times for dinner we eat some kind of casserole, which works well leftover for him, and that usually has something from all the food groups in it. Like we had chicken tetrazinni tonight. He's also a big fan of quesadillas, and it's easy to sneak meats or veggies in those. And you can pretty much put spinach in anything.
