update to my dilema......

so I made an appt w/the drs office that the girls in AU rec'd to me.  I have an appt on 8/3.

Here's the kicker - with my dr here in Columbus, I was to have an u/s on 8/6...... should I keep that until we make a decision or just move fwd w/the dr in AU?!!?!?

thoughts?

I would keep the appointment in Columbus until you know how you feel about the new dr.  If you aren't comfortable with the new dr, then you still have a backup.  If you like the new dr, you still have time to cancel the appointment in Columbus.

true, and thought about just going to both so I can see how I feel about both drs and then decide after the ultrasound.  who knows........

  • Keep the appt in Columbus. You won't get an u/s at Lee/Ob that early.  I won't even get an u/s by that point and I'll be 15 weeks. Prepare yourself for that with Lee/Ob,BTW.  I still haven't heard the HB or had an u/s.

You haven't got to hear the HB yet? We got to hear it when I was 9 or 10 weeks I think. It was my second appt. I was definitely disappointed that I didn't get an u/s until 17 or 18 weeks!

Nope. Nothing.  It has stressed me out BIG time.

uh that would stress me out too.

My only concern is what Heather brought to my attn is if my insurance will cover it!?!?!?  I'm going to ask my dr here b/c I did talk to them about possibly switching and they TOTALLY understood.

  • Ditto this.  I hope your insurance will cover it!  I checked ours and we will only be allowed 2 ultrasounds.  Is that the normal number?  And dumb question: that excludes the doppler, right?

    ETA: This was my ditto:

  • Leelee that is a normal number...2 u/s is what my insurance pays for to unless there are complications.  And no that doesn't include doppler...the doc listens at every appt with the doppler.  It's just part of my regular appointments.

Katie I would keep the appointment until you decide if you like the new doc.

  • I only had one regular u/s and then we paid for the 4-D. I feel pretty sure insurance would have covered if we needed another one. I think they were going to do another one if I went more than a week over my due date.
  • I know everyone likes the 3-D and 4-D but I'm ok w/not having it.  So not sure about my situation.  Guess I'll ask when I go in AU and see where to go from there.
  • Its an out of pocket optional thing.  I'll be doing it primarily to get another look at the baby.

I mainly only got the 4D because I wanted to see her again.  I had to pay for it.  My two insurance paid ones are the Big u/s that I had at 21w and I get a growth u/s at 36w.
