We have had a hell of a month. I really wanted to join you girls this past weekend for the going away party but so much has happened with my family. Avz and Mlhowe, you both will be missed... sorry I missed your party!

So, my step dad that had bypass on July 2nd has ended up with a blood infection. He has been in the hospital for almost a week now and has had 2 surgeries. His femoral artery got infected during one of the surgeries and ended up getting into his blood. It was so bad yesterday morning, the vascular surgeon thought the artery could bust and if it did they would have 30 min to get into surgery and take care of it or he would bleed to death. They instead opted to go ahead and start surgery and bypass that very infected part of his femoral artery. He had to have a blood transfusion b/c the femoral is one of the main arteries but he did wonderful. He is very weak today but all the docs are very positive about his recovery.

Thank you to those who said a prayer for him yesterday from my fb post... they worked (knock on wood). I would appreciate all the prayers that we could get for him!

I'm so sorry to hear about your step-dad. I hope that they are able to get everything under control soon and will be sending prayers your way for a healthy full-recovery.
