My mom and I are working out the details of my shower. It will be at her house and she's having it catered (sandwiches, salads, etc.) We'll be outside if the weather cooperates. It's a couple's shower, basically an outdoor, end-of-summer cookout-type party.
The question of the day is what time. I don't know what would be best. Early afternoon? Late afternoon? I don't want to have it too early and take up everyone's entire day but since we're having a ton of food I want people to know to come hungry (i.e. that we'll be having lunch). I also want to have enough time for people to hang out, mingle, eat and do presents.
Thoughts?
Re: Time of day for shower?
I agree.
I would say late afternoon. Sounds like it will be fun!
ETA: I'm in the minority, but I'm clearly the only one in the south!! An outside shower at 1:00 here in GA would be just miserable!
Thanks ladies...I hope people enjoy it. I know couple showers can be iffy.
I was thinking 1pm when my mom and I were talking.
I think it depends on the climate. I live in Alabama, so an outdoor shower in the afternoon would be miserable...my cousin got married outdoors in July and I still give her hell about it, lol. Anytime you sweat through a linen dress, its a bad deal.
If the weather is pleasant, I'd say 1 or 2 pm...
I would do late afternoon just so the sun has a chance to settle down and it would be a bit cooler.

That sounds so fun and relaxing!!!! I'd say do a late afternoon/early evening and have it be dinner. I went to a baby shower from 3-6 a few months ago.
If you want lunch I'd do 11 or 12 to whatever. That way people know they will be eating and it would free up their evening.
