I got some comments from some work people, family and my pedi about starting O on solids when is 4 months old. And I keep thinking that I want to wait, I don't want to just shovel it in if he isn't ready, and he isn't showing any interest in food or anything. Did you automatically start at 4 months, or did you wait?
Re: When did DC start solids?
I started Brooks at 4 months, but he was ready.
However - Caroline wasn't ready at 4 months, so we decided to wait to 6 months and she seems much more ready now.

Holly did seem ready, and we tried about a week before she turned 5 months. After a few days of it, she seemed to lose interest, so backed off for a few more weeks. She really didn't start eating them consistently until almost 6 months.
Definitely no need to push it if he doesn't seem ready!!! He's getting all he needs from his formula (I think you're FFing now???)
My Sweet Girls
We waited until 6 months. Maddie wasn't ready until then anyway, plus she had reflux and just a very sensetive tummy as a newborn, and I didn't want to introduce anything else until her system had a bit longer to develop.
To answer your question though, I don't think the trend is to start right at 4 months anymore. Some babies are ready, yes, but the new recommendation is 6 months.
I totally agree with this!
